I stick with my plan...mind you...any team I coach would be very strong down the wings, so I wouldn't have that problem. I'd always play 4-3-3 with the stopper pushed up to right behind the center mid, and then have right mid and right wing on the right, and left mid and left wing on the left...and then a striker making a run towards the goal. That allows for very strong wing game, which spreads the ball out, and it also gives me more cross/switch options so that midfielders don't have to play the ball into traffic.

bottom...the 1st diamond...and then the mids in a line, although the center would play farther forward/back than the outside mids depending on where the ball is, and the striker would play in front of the wingers

no because it is strong in the snter and its fullbacks would ideally be spaced out.

The defense in a diamond formation? OH NO! I suppose you would play a "stopper" hahahaha. Ok, please tell me by your formation you mean a 3-4-3 with 3 center backs, 4 in midfield and 3 up front. Because if you actually mean playing one center back with two full backs and a player in front of them, then that is a terrible idea and for that to be in response to the mother of all formations is laughable. Name one team in the entire world that plays that formation and I'll buy you a cookie.

TheKingNut....what a legend

P.S Moby, you are a good lad. The 4-4-2 diamond is a good formation. It actually is a formation used by human beings in the world of soccer unlike totallfootball's which is a formation he must have come up with on FIFA 08 or something.
TheKingNut wins!
