How is it predictable? Did anyone predict Arsenal would be fighting for 1st place? Didn't everyone say they'd be fighting for a CL spot? Barely anyone predicted this, .. and who knew Bolton would be that far low after finishing what, 5th place last season? Who knew Liverpool would be out of the top 4. Who knew Man City could grab a CL spot?

No one.

When its Henry is fucked over the award is bullshit. But when Totti and Drogba are put below Messi who didn't even come close to them last year its legitimate? what kind of logic is that.

The brilliant Diego Folrlan? . Where was Forlan before Riquelme joined the club and where is he now?. Riq is the one that bough out the best in Forlan with his brilliant play in the midfield.

Messi has a better Resume than Van Nitselroy dose that make him a better player than Nitselroy? I think if Messi needed someone to hold his dick the next time he took a piss he would call a few people in this thread.

To start off, don't overlook things that i say. I want you to confront the fact that Riquelme cannot handle being at a big club, and how he has never been able to even shine at a big club, and I want to hear how you defend this. What excuse do you have for why he cannot get signed by a top European club? Every world player of the year has been on a top team. Where the fuck is Riquelme?

Was Drogba in the Champions League final? Was Drogba in the World Cup Final? In the same year? Is Drogba Chelsea's all time leading goal scorer? No. Drogba had one fantastic season. That's it. How many goals does he have? I've seen Henry get the golden boot in the EPL when he missed quite a few games out injured.

"Where was Forlan before Riquelme joined the club and where is he now?"

Where was he? Manchester United  :hello: Right now? He is at Athletico Madrid. 16 appearances, 7 goals. Where the fuck is Riquelme? He had to run back to Boca because he knows that he can't cut it in a top team. Stop denying this fact, stop overlooking it. Even Forlan had a decent little time at Manchester United for 2 years.

Forlan: 106 appearances for Villareal, 54 goals. Hmm that is a little over a goal every other game. His first season there, pichichi

Messi is probably a better all around player than Ruud is, in terms of dribbling ability, speed, and quickness. But Ruud is a fox in the box, and not many can come close to his goal scoring ability. Ruud led the EPL in scoring once, so according to you he should be the world player of the year? Ruud led La Liga last season. World player of the year? :dontknow:

"I think if Messi needed someone to hold his dick the next time he took a piss he would call a few people in this thread."

Stop with your "hardcore" attitude. Stop with all of your remarks that you think make you sound hard. You have the characteristics of an "internet gangster".
How you gonna say Riquelme can't handle playing for a big club when at Barcelona he was played as a winger. I've seen you use the same excuse for Henry not being successful at Juventus. Hypocrite. Boca is not a big club? Boca are South American champions came second in World club competition so technically they are the second best club in the world, don't be stupid.

The diffrence between Forlan and United and Athletico and Forlan at Villareal with Riquelme is that he wasn't top scorer in Europe at united or now at Athletico.

And Im sure Messi is all of this seeing as he is 2nd best in the world and Drogba is not. Who are you kidding even you know that these awards are unfair.

What would I gain form trying to look hard on the internet? This is how I would talk to you if we where debating in real life. Your obviously observing too much taking a forum too seriously get a fucking life..  And what make you think I care if a fagot like you on the other side of the world thinks I'm an internet gangster?...

It is worthless to try and debate with someone who throws around curse words and insults, and if that is how you conduct yourself in real life, it is even worse than being an "internet gangster". I'll put it to rest. If it makes you feel better, Drogba should have won

Good day.
Relax quit taking everything so seriously, didn't know you where gonna get all emotional on me. Any way good argument you made some interesting points, it kept this boring place interesting for a few days which is what the thread was intended to do.

Boo... no comments to my posts. I want this to continue.

ELITE is making some great arguments. I think he's making a stronger case than melbourne although melbourne is doing a good job as well.

Boca is a big club with a great following in Argentina, but that's where it stops. The big teams in Europe have a following all over the world and perhaps have much more pressure on them because there is much more competition across Europe than just in Argentina.

Riquelme couldn't cut it in center mid for Barcelona so he got pushed out wide. Not sure whose fault that is but I'm assuming he wasn't better than the other center mids so he got moved out of his position. Getting moved out wide is better than getting moved to the bench.

South American teams should not be underestimated in the old Intercontinental cup SA 13-12 EU and since the world club championship was founded in 00 the south Americans won 3 times the Europeans teams won it 1 time they have proven they can mix it with Europe's best.   :pimp:

It's true but how many European teams take this competition seriously? None of them have until Milan this season when they said they would finally take their full team and expect a committed performance from their players. And guess what, they went out and beat everyone comfortably. Previously, it was just a stroll to finish off the year.

And melbourne, I would like to applaud you for starting this thread. Every time I came to the forum, this was the first thing I checked. Gotta love all the different opinions flying around. I want to start some threads where we have people debating on some good topics. Maybe we can make a thread where we nominate some ideas and then the popular ones can be put into a new thread where we can argue them. After a week, we can have a poll for the winning debaters. We'll call it "The Great Beyond Football Debaters." We can have it in a 3v3 or 4v4 format where 4 people argue against 4 others.

Thats a great idea. When I created this thread I thought everyone would also put down some unpopular opinions of their own instead for 2 pages we have only discussed mine. Someone should try a freestyle edition seeing as its the most active section. End of the day nothing personal its all in good fun, having a few insults thrown around only makes for great entertainment.

Yeah I agree. I was going to put in some of my opinions, just haven't had the time to sit down and think about it. It seems I'm always in a rush when I get on here now.

Should we start with my new idea or would you rather keep this thread going? :dontknow:

That's a cool idea, would be very interesting.

Like melbourne always says "platinum thread."

-England isn't top 5 national teams in the world and never was

Well, considering they won the World Cup in 1966, I guess they were a top 5 team at some point.
