To be honest, England needs to get rid of:

Lampard
Gerrard
Beckham
A. Cole
Rooney
Crouch

Players that need to play:

David Bentley
Leighton Baines
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Luke Moore
Theo Walcott

Get some youth and speed into this team. These players also like to dribble, and can dribble well. England needs more skillful players on the field.
It is a decent squad for 2010 or further more.
But why not Rooney?
freestyle, seeing is believing.

To put it in simplest terms...

England is not as technically gifted as most of the top international teams.

Compare the players on the England team to those of Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Brazil, Argentina, and Portugal and you'll see that England is well behind.

Now look at the Premiership. It was shit 10 years ago because all it had was those English players. Now it has some foreign talent that has injected the league with skill. The league is now the best with a good mix of direct and high pressure play as well as technical and flashy brilliance.

i agree with you on the first part of your post adi but the english league having technical and flashy brilliaance. thats the most stupidist thing i heard. and believe me your not the first person i heard this from. the english league is one of the worst leagues in my opinion. it has no skill whatsoever. now i am not saying the italian or spanish league is better but the english league is the last league in the world i would play for. please name me one player the english league has bought the best out of. the most closes one is tevez but i still think he can do much better.

look at chevy. is he any where near the chevy we saw at ac milan

Fabregas made a great comment the other day, and it is that English players do not play outside of England (very rarely anyway). How else will players bring different elements to thier game? For me, it is all about bringing in players with different skills, qualities, and expiriences and putting it together. Don't take players that are all based on the same game. Look:

Rooney - EPL
Lampard - EPL
Gerrard - EPL
Neville - EPL
Rio - EPL
Cashley - EPL

lets see...

Ronaldo - La Liga, Serie A
Ronaldinho - La liga
Gilberto - EPL
Vagner Love - Russian League
Robinho - La liga

See, i know you're thinking "well these brasilian players started in brasil.." you're right. but then they moved on...they all went to different parts of the continent, thus picking up different styles, not keeping the same style of play. I'm not saying that you're national team should have players that DO NOT play in the country; it is good to have players playing in your country, of course. But all of them? I don't think so. Even the USA is picking up on this. Having our playrs stay in the MLS is a big mistake, yes of course because the MLS is not a great league..but also, our players will be able to pick up different qualities, look at Beasley in Scotland, Dempsey in England, Freddy in Portugal.

England just needs some variation in players..thats all they need. It's not about Capello or Mourinho...to me, it all boils down to the players abilities and ability to play with each other with skills that compliment each other.

Yeah but you all go on about Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all having different styles of play, well.. there you go, each player has a different style of play..

I can kind of see where your coming from moby but then again camon its no where near the worst league. I'm not a very big fan of the EPL style of play but its is hella entertaining bro. As good as Italian football is I cant stand watching games like Citania vs Messina or Empoli v Sampdoria ect  :nopity: Its the big teams that play entertaining in Italy ( Inter, Roma, AC, Lazio, Juventus, Plermo, and Fiorentina). But I can watch a say Sunderland v Westham its much more entertaining than small teams in Italy.

When I was younger, a lot of people would stereotype Italy and say that Italy and their clubs score 1 or 2 goals then defend the whole game, which made it boring..
