I applaud Beckham so much for what he's done with Madrid. He had the highlife at Manchester United and he took a gamble. Ask Rooney to take a gamble like that, i bet he'll never leave England to try something new. It's all about trying different things, gaining new skills, training in different ways, with different tactics and people. Then we will seee England winning a Euro (or at least qualifying for one.... :dontknow:)

i think there was other reasons for beckham leaving united, like falling out with fergie, and when you fall out with him its his decision if you stay or not.

True. But still, he could have easily signed with any team in England.

Abroad was best for him, if he stayed in england it could of ruined him with all the media, i know he wil get media wherever he is on earth but the english media is tough, and united were the biggest team in England, anywhere else would of been a step down imo, abroad was his only option i think.

Fabregas made a great comment the other day, and it is that English players do not play outside of England (very rarely anyway). How else will players bring different elements to thier game? For me, it is all about bringing in players with different skills, qualities, and expiriences and putting it together. Don't take players that are all based on the same game. Look:

Rooney - EPL
Lampard - EPL
Gerrard - EPL
Neville - EPL
Rio - EPL
Cashley - EPL

lets see...

Ronaldo - La Liga, Serie A
Ronaldinho - La liga
Gilberto - EPL
Vagner Love - Russian League
Robinho - La liga

See, i know you're thinking "well these brasilian players started in brasil.." you're right. but then they moved on...they all went to different parts of the continent, thus picking up different styles, not keeping the same style of play. I'm not saying that you're national team should have players that DO NOT play in the country; it is good to have players playing in your country, of course. But all of them? I don't think so. Even the USA is picking up on this. Having our playrs stay in the MLS is a big mistake, yes of course because the MLS is not a great league..but also, our players will be able to pick up different qualities, look at Beasley in Scotland, Dempsey in England, Freddy in Portugal.

England just needs some variation in players..thats all they need. It's not about Capello or Mourinho...to me, it all boils down to the players abilities and ability to play with each other with skills that compliment each other.

Look at Italy only 4 players out of the 27 in the current squad play abroad and that how its usually been. Yet they are only 1 world cup short of Brazil. They usually put out and all Seria A based squad and still win.

Its that fucking hight tempo kick and gol English style. The same style that makes their league so entertaining is the same style that lets them down against others who play a more technical game.  Its like the players where told not to dribble or hold on to the ball, mostly long balls and just getting the ball to the forwards with one cross and expecting them to finish.

To be honest, England needs to get rid of:

Lampard
Gerrard
Beckham
A. Cole
Rooney
Crouch

Players that need to play:

David Bentley
Leighton Baines
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Luke Moore
Theo Walcott

Get some youth and speed into this team. These players also like to dribble, and can dribble well. England needs more skillful players on the field.
