Come on... let's not get ridiculous now. England is not shit. They are still a good team with a lot of potential. With the right manager now, they should be OK. Their first test will be against Switzerland in February. Don't think that's an easy game because Switzerland plays well in all tournaments.

No matter how good of a team you are, even the likes of Brazil, Italy, France, etc still feel discomfort when facing England. That alone shows they are not shit. I know you are probably exaggerating, I'm just saying all this in case you're not.

I think England plays better when they face bigger teams, .. such as that game against Brazil.. England did really well that game.

i remember when holland failed to qualify for the world cup, i think another major nation did that year aswell.

i kind of do agree with the PL too many english fans look at other clubs especially italian teams as being weak when italy won the world cup during all the match fixing scandals with a team that all played in serie a.

That's a sign of a team that has a shit load of potential, not a team that is shit.

If you can play with the big boys and instill fear into them, you have something to work with. Capello is going to help England fix the motivational problems they are having when facing weaker teams. The only issue I see with Capello is the lack of creativity. Sometimes you need creativity to break down those weak teams that just sit back and defend with 11 men.

Fabregas made a great comment the other day, and it is that English players do not play outside of England (very rarely anyway). How else will players bring different elements to thier game? For me, it is all about bringing in players with different skills, qualities, and expiriences and putting it together. Don't take players that are all based on the same game. Look:

Rooney - EPL
Lampard - EPL
Gerrard - EPL
Neville - EPL
Rio - EPL
Cashley - EPL

lets see...

Ronaldo - La Liga, Serie A
Ronaldinho - La liga
Gilberto - EPL
Vagner Love - Russian League
Robinho - La liga

See, i know you're thinking "well these brasilian players started in brasil.." you're right. but then they moved on...they all went to different parts of the continent, thus picking up different styles, not keeping the same style of play. I'm not saying that you're national team should have players that DO NOT play in the country; it is good to have players playing in your country, of course. But all of them? I don't think so. Even the USA is picking up on this. Having our playrs stay in the MLS is a big mistake, yes of course because the MLS is not a great league..but also, our players will be able to pick up different qualities, look at Beasley in Scotland, Dempsey in England, Freddy in Portugal.

England just needs some variation in players..thats all they need. It's not about Capello or Mourinho...to me, it all boils down to the players abilities and ability to play with each other with skills that compliment each other.
