Russia completely deserved to advance today. They were world-class and dominated Holland for the most part. This Russian team really is special. They are extremely fit, work hard, and have just enough skill to play with the big teams.

Arshavin, for me, is the player of the tournament so far. He's done some incredible things. I just wonder what big European team will snap him up first. For some reason, I have a feeling the big teams will pass up on him because he's not a big name player yet. That would be a real mistake though as he's proven himself against the best teams and in the biggest competitions.

Congrats Russia! Keep bringing us this great football and we won't mind seeing you advance over bigger teams.

... and Holland continues to underachieve! :biggrin:

Russia did well, if it so happens that Italy wins, I am confident in Russia, but I would have loved to see Holland win this thing.  :down:

I think we all knew Holland would hit a road-block like this sooner or later. They do it over and over, so why not in this tournament? Spain is the other team that's like them, and they'll hit their road block tomorrow against Italy or in the semis against Russia.
