I'm surprised nobody really backed Drogba, Ruud, Zlatan, Adebayor, etc in this discussion. To be honest, I don't think anyone is the clear best striker at the moment. There are tons of good ones but nobody has really done anything to clearly set himself apart from the rest.

this is true, adi. But I happen to think that at this very moment Torres is the best.

You make a good point Adi, Adebayor matched Torres for goals in the Prem if I am not mistaken. Zlatan came up big on the last day for Inter, Raul had a great season. Ruud will always score goals as he has proved time and time again.

In the best striker in the world though you are looking for a player that has attributes other than sheer goal scoring. Zlatan is the most gifted without question, such a shame he plays for a rather average country and that Inter fair so badly in the Champions League. At the same time, I would love to see him take Inter further in that tournament, really drag that team to the last four.

yeah ruud has been producing for years and years, but he is more of an inside-the-18-only kind of player. Raul has been coming on strong, but hes not quite what he used to be.

haha as soon as i say this i started laughing. well done nutsy. liverpool depended so much on torres for goals like arsenal did for adebayor. the strike partnership of delpiero and trezuget was the clear best this year. eto'o had less oportunities and other people sharing the goal scoring load which under achieved to say the least. ruud is a poacher and actually socred a nice goal outside the box this year. raul is fading for me. and ddint get called to the national team....
Thierry Henry leaving Arsenal was one of the saddest days of my life....

Henry is the best striker in the world...This guy is the top scorer and provider for us in the league and the Champions League. We should only praise him
