kingnut, I can guarantee you that I am far more literate than you could ever hope to be. You shouldn't be so derisive, you make yourself seem pretentious. That being said, your logic would dictate that Beckham, when he was on Real Madrid, was a better player than Riquleme, for example, just because he was on a better club. Remember that many of the best players in the history of the game played on weak clubs when compared to the European powerhouses. The two best examples of this are Pele and Garrincha.

Ok, totalfootball. Am I suppose to strive to be as literate as a guy who can't spell contradicting and also doesn't know what it means? Haha, you crack me up. Beckham a better player than Riquelme? 100% kid and you better believe it. You are the sort of idiot who reads everything that's in the papers and on the internet and believe it. Lets put some facts out there in bullet point form:

* Riquelme nominated for World Player of Year twice. Beckham on the other hand was voted runner up twice. Beckham prevails.
* Beckham played for Man.Utd and won the Champions League. Riquelme lost in Semi with Villarreal. Beckham prevails.
* Beckham signed for Real Madrid and was an ever present for the most part. Riquelme signed for Barca and was a flop. Beckham again.
* Beckham captain of his country and 100 caps. Riquelme 45 caps. Wow, Beckham again.

Some sort of trend there maybe? Hahaha, I love being right all the time.

Pele and Garrincha played on weak teams did they? Interesting point, but incorrect. Have you ever even seen these two players play on tape before? You probably have no idea of how these guys even played. Actually maybe you know about Pele, every North American does, they always call him "Pay-Lay." That's probably how you pronounce it as well, isn't it totalfootball? Haha.

Do you know what I would do if I was you totalfootball? I would go back to dictionary.com or whatever website you went to so the post you wrote this time actually made sense grammatically and write on those websites instead. You obviously are desperate to try and portray yourself as knowing something about football, but rather tragically for you, you just don't mate. You are throwing out names like Garrincha in your posts and you have NO IDEA ABOUT HIM. Do you know about Eder, Socrates, Revelino? I'm fairly certain you don't. Go and look them up on youtube or whatever website you want before writing your next post, but you are not going to fool me kiddo. Why don't you stick to the NHL, NFL or MLB. You probably know more about those leagues and the sport that is played within them.

TheKingNut, for the most part, is always going to be right. When I am not I will hold my hands up but it's not going to be often.Maybe one day when you have some sort of knowledge you can challenge me. Bye bye totalfootball, see you in a few years.

There was already a long topic on Rooney. Check it out here: http://www.beyondfootball.com/forum/index.php?topic=768.0

You can post at the end of it if you'd like, or you can start a new one with a different twist on it.

kingnut Garrincha is my hero and the best winger who ever lived. I have seen footage of both Garrincha and Pele, and I have learned soccer from a Brazil A-Licensed coach who played in the Mexican First Division, as well as a former NASL player who has won the Ontario Coach of the Year award a few times. As a sidenote, I edited an internationally acclaimed book of poetry at the age of 10, so yes I am literate. The poet who wrote it is now considered to be one of the leading childrens' poets in North America, although quite frankly his adult poetry just doesn't cut it. And Riquelme in 2006 versus Beckham in 2006 while he was on Real Madrid...Riquelme would undoubtedly get the better of that exchange.

sidenote number two: kingnut, if you know what total football is, then you'll know why Torres is a better player than Eto'o.

I don't care what poet you know, you still can't spell mate. You also don't seem to know very much about football. I saw your post on "soccer strategy." A diamond in defense? What on earth are you talking about? You should go and read my response to your garbage post, I hammer you.

When were we comparing Riquelme and Beckham in 2006? You didn't give a specific year, eggbert. I don't care what year it was anyway, Beckham would always get my vote. He has had a far more illustrious career than Riquelme.

So apparently I have no football knowledge because I think Eto'o is better than Torres. What a terrible statement. I say that you know nothing as you talk about playing a diamond in defense formation with a center back, 2 full backs and a player in front of them. I really, really hope that you mean 3 center backs, because if you don't then I'm worried you are taking the piss by calling that the best formation in the world.
