Adi, Torres might be the best form wise but you cannot give him the title of Best Striker In The World off the back of one season. You are missing my point completely. Is Roque Santa Cruz in the top ten strikers in the world because he finished top four in England?? No he isn't. Think Adi, THINK!!!!
Torres has been in great form for years. Do you watch Spanish League?

In great form? Are you sure, did he ever break 20 goals? Most of the Spanish ex-players, panelists, were saying not to expect too much for him when Liverpool signed him. Did you call him the best striker in the world when he was with Madrid? No, you didn't. You eggs probably had no idea of how good he was, how he played or anything of the such. You probably read on soccernet he was good and caught a few of his goals on goalTV. Don't act like your la liga experts. In terms of goals, he was probably on the same level as James Beattie or yakubu before this season, about a 1 in 3 record. Bloody hell I am good at this debating stuff....I'm always right

Haha, you silly goose.

Ronaldo, Samuel Eto'o and David Villa were the only ones bettering his goal tally during his time in Spain. I guess that's not too bad considering he was under 20 for the majority of his stay in Spain. He scored 0.43 goals per game in La Liga.

All I'm trying to say is that Torres will only get better. He's been getting better every year and this season he was already one of the best. There is nothing to show that he will decline as a player, except if he gets a serious injury. I still think he has plenty of potential to fulfill.

On the other hand, you have Eto'o who has already peaked 3 years ago and is just now finding his old form due to his injury. If Eto'o can get back to his best, I'd pick him. As of now, he's just a pain in the ass with no more potential to fulfill.

Adi, you really annoy me with your arguments. I am not saying anything about Torres' potential. I am stating that he is not the best striker in the world. I think he could be but he is not currently. I hate it when everyone jumps on a bandwagon. The same people who were saying they were not sure about him a year ago are the same people saying he is great now.

And I was right about him never breaking 20 league goals wasn't I?? Yes, so people shouldn't use the argument that he was banging the goals in before this season. He had many doubters before it, so people need to relax and stop talking....NOW!!!

How many goals did you exactly think he would score this year? I bet you didn't think he'd score more than 30 goals in all. That makes you no better than us at predicting how good he would be before the season.

Even if we are not considering the potential, I still think Torres is better than Eto'o right now. I'm on no bandwagon and I could care less how well Torres plays. The question is who is the best right now and I think Torres is. Torres doesn't get half of the quality set up plays that Eto'o does with Barcelona, yet he's been just as effective.

Yes I didn't think he would score the amount he did but I'm not on the bandwagon saying he is the best striker in the world, ADI. I understand your argument saying Torres has been better this year, he has been, but are you telling me that when Eto'o is fully fit, Torres is better? Please don't say to me Eto'o is worse player now after his injury, this is not true.

Yes, he gets more chances but isn't that because he earned the right to play for a better team? Why didn't Barca sign him? Because he's not as good as Eto'o. Adi, I love you dearly but you are wrong on this one. Give Torres this Euro and next season and then we will talk, when he has done it consistently.

I've been a fan of el nino since before 2006, so waht bandwagon  :dontknow:

anyhow kingnut, your arguments are flawed and I'll leave Adi to argue with you since you are conradicting yourself a ridiculous amount. Fist you say that Torres doesnt score as much. Then you say that even though Etoo gaets more chances and hasnt scored as much as torres, he is still better because he plays for Barcelona. Newsflash: Man U is also one of the leading clubs in the world.

Haha, are you sure mate? How is my argument flawed? And do you know what contradicting means? (Oh and by the way, note my spelling of contradicting, I have spelled it the correct way)

Lets make things clear shall we teetotalfootie, whatever your name is. I stated Torres did not score more than 20 league goals in Spain before he came to England, and I was correct and never went back on that, obviously I wouldn't considering my claims were correct.

Next, I said that Eto'o had earned the right to play with better players as he earned his move to Barcelona (scored 24 and 26 goals, in his first two seasons respectively there by the way which is more that Torres ever did for Madrid)

My argument is not flawed, it is backed up with stats. You obviously don't have a brain as:
A. You struggle to spell correctly
B. Don't know the meaning of words

You seriously need to think about ever writing on one of my topics again. I actually want to have debates with people that know about football.

Grow a brain mate.

Actually, Adi, any danger of getting this guy kicked off the forum all together?

also, Torres played great in the 2006 world cup. He scored lots and split the defense with his speed.

Haha, classic, rubbish totalfootball10 sort of comment
