This phrase gets used so often "blocks are so much easier" and I agree, in terms of execution, it is easier than air combos but freestyle is not just about simply executing the trick. It's about how the execution appeals to the eye, the style. I mean I'm not sure how many of you would rather watch a hardcore lowers video with unclean combos, hands flying everywhere and the freestyler all over the place or watch someone not as hardcore but with clean combos and unique style. I think it's a similar case, it takes a lot of practise to get into a nice flow and own style in blocks which, in my opinion, is what blocks is all about. Blocks to me is not about how hard the trick is but how good your flow is and whether or not is it performed "stylishly", which, just like other areas of freestyle, require a lot of dedication and training. Thoughts?
