Freestyle's future?
« on: Dec 09, 2011, 09:25: AM »
Just wondering where do you see freestyle in 10 years time? huge? More commercial? Still underground? Smaller? Bigger? Or even dead or non-existent maybe?

Would love too see where you see yourselves going with it also? what are you're long term goals? do you want it as a full time profession or aiming to win any competitions? have any of yous set some retirement dates or plan on doing this as long as you can think?

Interested in all you're opinions

Really good question.

I think the mainstream will chew it up and spit it out, adverts, Christiano Ronaldo iPad games etc. the way it does with these things, and the hardcore will carry on pushing it forward regardless.  It'll drift in and out of fashion, like for instance skateboarding, but it'll always be there to the people that matter.

One day 'world freestyle day' will be a public holiday and everyone will fs for the whole day to celebrate!

well tbh that will never happen but i believe the number of freestylers will continue to grow and the sport will be more popular. But i dont think freestyle, generally, has enough entertainment value to be more commercial than it is now. The more extreme sports like skateboarding, boxing, wrestling etc will always get more attention i think.

forget Ronaldinho....only one deserves the -inho suffix......Jabarinho!!!!
