Ban the burqa day
« on: Jul 04, 2011, 08:29: AM »
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=181141481939718

It's meant to be just the burqa and the other full face covering only. The main reasons(despite a lot of the ignorant people in the event) is that the burqa wearers seem to have extra rights over everyone else and they're identity is concealed at all times. You can't wear a motorcycle helmet into a bank because it conceals your identity, when a police officer pulls you over, you can't have anything covering your identity either.

I'm undecided here. On the one hand I do agree that everyone should be made to follow the same laws and shouldn't have their identities concealed all the time for security reasons, on the other hand, what about all those chicks that wear a ton of make up..I mean, if you've seen any before and after make up pictures you can clearly see the huge difference. It's not exactly the same but it is similar to some degree.

What do you guys think about this?

ban the bikini day.

at times of necessity those muslims of the opinion that niqab (burqa) is an obligation know they should uncover their faces. for example for identity checks, passport pictures etc...

how does a burqa conceal identity? wedding veils and winter clothes must be banned along with it then.
anyway, i just think it is a facebook page trollin with muslim sentiments.
The nitrophosphate process (also known as the Odda process) was a method for the industrial production of nitrogen fertilizers invented by Erling Johnson in the city of Odda, Norway around 1927.

Clothing to protect from cold serves a purpose unlike clothing to praise some sort of fictional entity.

Good thing you ignored my first post. I own as always, old news new story history repeats itself.

ban the bikini day because if covering yourselves is extreme uncovering yourself in front of others is also extreme.

Nothing is being banned because it is extreme. It's being banned because police can't identify someone hiding his or her face.

ban the bikini day.

Are you gay? would you have woman go around in over-sized cardigans instead???

I think Ban it (the Burqa) as it comes from a time wear woman had little or no rights, its a medieval thing. If a person wears it in a non-Muslim country they will not assimilate into the society of that country well, it promotes them to stay within their own communities and to not fully embrace the culture of their new country. (i mention this as its happening in Australia, which even though has many Muslims, i think it is a secular country).

Remember: Head scarfs and all the other non-face covering veils are completely fine.
On the news recently they said it's all about the privacy and now they've given police officers the authority to check in situations like pulling over a car for speeding and shit like that. But that doesn't excuse the double standard for going into a bank or a petrol station.

They only wear those veils once in a life time(for happy couples) and besides, you can see right though them. Winter clothing? It doesn't snow over here so the most I've ever seen is someone with a beanie and a hoody which doesn't really cover the face or much of it.

Aren't bikinis already banned in most Islamic countries because it's against the religion? In this case, it's for security reasons and double standards. Not everyone is Islamic but everyone would want to feel as secure as possible, wouldn't you agree?

someone posted on that group why don't you let female officers do the identifying of muslim women instead? it will make everyone happy.
so? why not?
even if you can't do that, it's allowed for those of the opinion that niqab (burqah) is an obligation on women that you can take it off when deemed necessary, for example their passport/ID pictures (no one in Saudi Arabia - they're of the opinion that niqab is a must for women - has an id picture with their niqab on) , when there are police check ups etc...
