I can't see 'arry pulling this one off too. His team did good vs milan......but it ends here lol.  Lennon vs marcelo will be interesting though. But tottenham have no one to stop ozil in midfield. Ozil will have his way in there and run riot :040:

Lots of people think Tottenham has a good chance and I'm almost lead to believe the same, but there's no way.  Mourinho doesn't lose at home and he knows exactly how to play against English sides.

Madrid will take this.

4-zippo to madrid :040: This tie is over.....I hope. Domination from start to finish by los blancos. I don't think the red card for crouch made a diffference because madrid were dominating for the first 15 mins before that happened. Hala Madrid!! :Woot_Emoticon:

Ronaldos performance sums up why he is not one of the best players in the world. Brilliant goalscorer but offers very little apart from that. Not on the same planet as Xavi and Messi.

Run inside shoot...block....run inside shoot....block.....run inside shoot....block.....eventually goal. No craft, vision, switch of play...nothing.

No guys!! It is not ronaldo's job to switch play and create. I asked the question before and i will ask again. Would you rather CR7 passing the ball or receiving a pass to go to score? You can forgive him for being selfish and shooting most times.....why? Look at the well placed volley for an example.....or his incredible scoring stats.
Also, look at ronnie's penetrative abilities. Everytime he got the ball he ran at players, unbalancing spurs defence. Also, look how many freekicks and corners he wins.
Also, look how madrid dominated gijon but lost 1-0 because Cr7 was not there at the weekend to finish the dominating build-up play.
Look at spain or barca when messi is missing or torres is off-form. They usually only win 1-0 despite xavi's brilliant passing. Xavi needs other great players around him. Ronnie needs no one. Play an aimless, shitty ball in the air for ronnie, like the one kaka gave him and he will volley it home. No need for a brilliant pass. That is why ronnie is better than xavi.......messi is the best though :098:

Im not saying it is Ronaldos "job". But to be called the best player in the world...better than Xavi and Messi...then he needs to be able to do more than just score goals and stand still doing tricks. Look through history...players like Muller, Rush, Jairzinho....great goal scorers but not ever mentioned as best in the world...reason being you have to do more than score goals to be at the top of the game.

Ronaldo could be so much more, but he isn't and never will be.

It is not just his goalscoring. I also said about his penetrative dribbling abilities which unbalances opposing defences. Also, winning freekicks and scoring freekicks. All this creates opportunities for his teammates to have more space, consistently. And he never stands still doing tricks. It is always done to create space for a shot or to get past a defender.....unless he is time wasting in the 90th minute or smth.
Xavi creates opportunities for space and penetrates defences with his passing, which is just as effective and consistent. But ronnie has a little extra because he scores a shitload of goals too
If you look at the greatest attacking players like henry, tevez, messi, eto,o, Brazilian Ronaldo, etc. they all are remembered not for passing vision or ball retention or switching play. Instead for unbalancing defences, quality of general play and quality of goals.....just like ronnie.

I think he has slipped behind Messi and Xavi.  I think a lot of this has to do with how he's being used rather than his true ability.  He played deeper in England and will hopefully play that way again whereever he plays.  I don't like him sitting high all the time waiting for the final ball.

Lots of people think Tottenham has a good chance and I'm almost lead to believe the same, but there's no way.  Mourinho doesn't lose at home and he knows exactly how to play against English sides.

Saw that coming.

Jabba, out of the players you have mentioned there, Messi and the real Ronaldo are different lague to Ronaldo. The rest, well Henry similar to Ronaldo in ability, quite similar players actually. Tevez and Etoo probably not much in it either. None of these players though, bar Messi and R9 are thought about as the best in the world, which is my point...you have to be more than just a goal scorer.

Did you watch the game against Tottenham??? Ronaldo didn't go past a player with a trick once. He drew a few in when he ran at them but never went past players with skill. I didn't see him suck people in and provide a killer passs either.
