Spurs will be in the title race 09
« on: Mar 29, 2008, 12:43: AM »
They have got a great coach and a great squad including  Berbatov, Keane, Bent, Jeanas, Zakora, Chimbonda, Bale, King, Woodgate, Huddelstone, Lennon.... and many other very talented players. I honestly don't see why they will not feature in a the title race next year. If Ramos can keep his key player Berbatov and further strengthen the side in January we could be looking at a side which I think on paper is better than Liverpool I mean if you compare them player for player in every position Liverpool hasn't got anything on them Liverpool probably have Gerrard and Torres. If Spurs can continue to keep these talented players on their team I can imagine Ramos will get a team capable of featuring heavily in the title race or minimum a champions league spot.

Manchester City couldn't keep up this season because of Erikson not being able to bring in enough players who are proven in the big leagues and a few other factors but I think they will also be in top 5 region soon. This might rub a few people the wrong way but I can see Arsenal and Liverpool being knocked off the top 4 spots.

Yeah, City and Spurs will make it more interesting. I was surprised to see them win the CC, but that should have given them confidence. With the right transfers this summer, they can do it.

Easily, Ramos also said that Berbatov will not be allowed to quit Tottenham so more good news for them.

But I'd like to hear your input on Everton. They did good enough in the Uefa Cup, and are playing Liverpool today, don't you think they're a contendor for the 4th spot next year or maybe even higher?

Everton is in the same boat as Portsmouth they are very consistent and have the potential to break into the top 5 but I don't think they have the funds to bring in world class like City and Spurs. Thats why Everton and Pompey are still holding on to Vandermayda, Graveson, Kanu, Primus, Koroman ect and if a good bid came in for one of their really good players they are not really in a position to refuse look at Benjani for example.

Teams like that need to go far in the FA Cup to earn cash like that.

I'm disappointed in Bolton, they finished 5th last year no? I thought they'd break the top 4 this year but now they're fighting relegation!

a very good statement melbounre its appauling how tottenham finished 5th last season and now are stuck in the bottom half. but i think with all there players and coach they could possibly finish 4th. its pretty unpredictable with some teams like bolton finishing high then in relegation the following season like celta vigo in relegation and playing the CL and real sociedad finishing second than being relegated the season after.

im hoping to see city performing more consistant next season they started off to a flyer than the steam has slowly ran out. but remember people were writing off united to do rubbish after the 6th game and look at them now.

No one said United was rubbish after 6 games. It was just funny that they were in the relegation zone at one point in the season.
