I think we will, but Chelsea are going for him too. With Rooney ill, and if Tevez is out for a while, then we'll bring him in for sure.

Ronaldo to Real Madrid?
Real's £45m Ronaldo bid
Real Madrid aim to once again test Manchester United's resolve to keep Cristiano Ronaldo after it emerged they were prepared to pay £45million for the winger. The Spanish club's president Ramon Calderon revealed his desire to land Ronaldo after failing to do so once before when the 22-year-old snubbed him to sign a new five-year deal at Old Trafford. United are certain to turn down any offer, but Real see Ronaldo as the player to return them to Champions League glory. Calderon said: "Who wouldn't want to have in his team a player of Cristiano Ronaldo's amazing talent? He is one of the best in the world." They have been encouraged by the Portugal star's recent admission that he wants to play in Spain while still at his peak.

oh shit i hope Ronaldo doesn't go his to gay for Madrid

Dimitar Berbatov has sensationally told Spurs he would like to join a ‘big’ club — putting Manchester United on red alert. In a bombshell interview with SunSport, the Bulgarian superstar’s agent Emil Dantchev last night revealed: “I have already spoken to the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, and told him that if a club that corresponds to Dimitar’s class and ambition comes in with an offer that suits his current club in January, he would like to be allowed to go. Dimitar is OK at Tottenham. I would not say he is happy. But his performances for the club are a testament to his commitment to the fans and his team-mates. He has never stopped trying and scoring goals to help the team. Fans must understand Dimitar is 27 next month and time is running out for him to play for a club that can match his ambition.”

Ramos Confident In Berbatov Stay  Juande Ramos has dismissed speculation that star striker Dimitar Berbatov is almost certain to leave Tottenham during the January transfer window.
Ramos Confident In Berbatov Stay

The Bulgarian star’s agent Emil Dantchev has claimed that his client is determined to move to a club 'which matches his ambition', but Ramos is not putting much stock into these words.

"Obviously Berbatov's agent is looking to do his business and has made his comments," said the Spaniard.   "But we are happy because we have the player on a contract, and we plan to keep him."

The audaciously skilled forward is widely-known to be high on the list of many top clubs’ wish list, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Milan reported to be heading the queue.

After reiterating his determination to keep the club’s biggest star at White Hart Lane, Ramos turned his attention to the inadequate performance of his team during the 2-1 loss to Aston Villa on New Years day.

"I am not happy because we have come back from a goal down, created chances, and still lost,” he said. “I think a draw would have been a fairer result.

"But in the past few weeks, we have conceded goals from set-pieces, and it is hard to win matches conceding as many as we do from those sort of positions.

"We are lacking in some defensive departments, and it is something we need to look at. We are paying for lapses.

"We need to find a solution to our defensive problems. If we can't sort the problems out with the players we already have here, we will look outside for other players."

There have been rumors floating around about Brad Guzan to Arsenal, Michael Parkhurst to Fulham, Maurice Edu to Aston Villa, Clint Dempsey to a few mid-table EPL clubs.

Dempsey will be a much better player if he goes to Villa or Middlesbrough.

I think Dimi is leaving for sure.. but will it be Chelsea or Utd?  :saywhat:

Haha. As if Thierry Henry didn't just finish signing a 7 year deal last year. Contracts do not mean shit, so teams should watch out for quick moves.

Well I didn't know that.

But isn't it called a clause contract or something where they are not allowed to leave?

Clauses can be anything. There are also options on it. Henry probably had an option or clause that allowed him to leave when he wanted to. Who knows the details of Ronaldo's contract; he won't leave though, not until he wins more trophys.

Real Madrid is just talking out of its ass.

Manchester United won't sell unless that 45 million can be put to a better use.

Henry signed a 7 year contract last season? Are you sure about that? I just don't see a 29 year old signing a 7 year contract. There was a time when a player signed a 15 year contract from what I can remember. :saywhat:
