Confederations Cup

SA-Iraq 0-0
Spain-NZ 5-0
Brazil-Egypt 4-3
Italy-USA 3-1

zidan was fucking great in the brazil game

us went down to ten men in the first half (i'll just leave it alone).  went up when chielini got left for dead by altidore in the box and brought him down.  italy pulled won back.  wore us down and took the lead.  got a late goal (last minuteish).

Iraq defended pretty well last night.



Abu Treika African player of the year is the heart of Egypt. Usually not a big supporter of Egypt or South Africa in fact they are the two teams I never support in the African tournaments. Hope at least one of them make it far in this competition.

brazil v. us 3-0

extremely sluggish first half.  brazil made us pay.  came out better in the second half.  sacha klejstan got sent off.  maicon scored from a ridiculous angle off a deflection.  feilhaber and casey both hit the crossbar late.

a lot of stupid, sloppy play, but we aren't going to beat teams like this without playing an extremely solid game. hopefully we can get these things at least partially shored up before the WC
