Inter Declare Press Silence Inter Milan have issued a “silenzio stampa”, press silence, reportedly because they feel they are being victimised by the press in the aftermath of Sunday’s match against Parma.
The Nerazzurri were involved in a hugely controversial 3-2 win over Parma at San Siro.
Trailing 2-1, they were awarded a dubious 88th minute penalty for a handball by Fernando Couto. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the spot-kick and then hit the winner deep into stoppage time.
This resulted in some furious outbursts from the Parma hierarchy, as well as Roma boss Luciano Spalletti, and Inter are unhappy with how the Italian press have reported on the controversy.
President Massimo Moratti has not spoken to the media since the game, and he has now been joined by coach Roberto Mancini.
The club’s pre-match press conference for tomorrow’s Coppa Italia tie with Juventus has been cancelled.
There has been no official explanation by Inter for the press silence but it is believed to be because they feel victimised by the press coverage of the Inter-Parma match on Sunday night.
