oh I'll admit that those flashes of brilliance do happen
no denying that

but barcelona strings 30 passes together on a regular basis without the other team touching the ball.

when you look at the buildup of their plays, you'll notices that the other team either doesn't touch, or barely touches, the ball....it's just that they don't penetrate right away and use their flanks more so that they can jockey an opening into the 18 and thread a pass through

you're taking the argument the wrong way. you called it "flashes of brilliance" but i have to reiterate the fact that winning the league 3 times and the champions league possibly twice in a row is a LONG flash of brilliance; in other words, they are very consistent.

don't take the argument this way and try to say that United isn't a consistently great team; they are.

but ^_^ would say otherwise

i mean, there isn't anything wrong with supporting United, which you and I both know you do. i'm not saying you live and die for them. relax.

the brilliance that I was talking about is the passing play pb pointed out, and the one w/ 22 passes. I'm saying that such a thing rarely happens for british teams, whereas for barca, it is their style of play.

I wasn't saying that man u hasn't been a force these past few years, because saying that would be ridiculous

here's an interesting fact:

barcelona has won it's copa del rey along with the leage; united has won it's league cup as long as well as the league (let's remember, that panathinaikos fc won the club world championship once or whatever, so really how meaningful is that :nopity:)

so it's kind of like 2-2

and this game will certainly decide which team is the best team in europe

I think ManU win 1-0. Barca hasn't got Abidal and Alves :bang:

no they didn't.  they were runners-up.  they were also runners up in the european cup (CL) during the same period of time ('71).

regardless, it's pretty meaningless. to me it's like a community shield match.

i'd put it over the community shield.  i mean, it does mean that you are the champion of the world, but i kind of agree.

Oh yeah, I've heard they've got a great offense, but a not so good de-fence. A pretty entertaining soccer team all in all.
