but, they were competitive while giving a welcome rest to some key players.  they're still in two very important competitions that are getting very tight.  they've already won the club world cup and the league cup.  they still have the opportunity to win four competitions.  that's pretty impressive regardless.  you can't win everything

he claims that it was the field.  he also talked about resting his players for the comp.s somewhere else.

to be honest, there are a ton of games packed in to a very short time-frame.  they are all very important to their respective comp.s.  he had to give them a rest somewhere.

i'm sure he really, really wants to repeat in the cl and puts winning the league over the fa cup.  he already has like fucking five of them anyway
