Do you like your country?
« on: Mar 09, 2009, 04:52: AM »
well, this is just another one of my CLASS A threads (get it? A as in Acquaviva , ok....lame joke)

do you like your country? simple question

i think Venezuela could be much better with:

A good pressident
If we would stop giving away free oil and put the money that could be made by seeling that oil in to fixing roads, making houses for the poor, better health care, better education,  etc...
if we would stop making fights with countrys that very easily would destroy venezuela in 2 days if we ever went to war against them (example, united states....)
if there would be police that actually do there job, as oppossed to the ones there are now, who mostly are as bad as the criminals they capture.....

in the possitive:
there are alot of nice places here in venezuela
theres nice weather in most parts (except where i live, here it is HOT AS HELL every day)

I love my country in many ways, and am disgusted in others.
The main thing being that we speak the English Language as our first language, which is annoying, we would still be speaking fluent Gaeilge if it wasnt for the English.

shoudent that be a good thing? english is the universal language
No its not a good thing, i dont think you understand.

The English came into our country, and treated us like slaves, and with that they moved their people over here, which drove out our native language generation by generation.

I would have learned to speak English as a second language happily, but its annoying that I can speak English better than my native language, no matter how much I learn Gaeilge.

cons:
it's hot and humid with none of the benefits you'd expect
no one has a sense of fucking urgency
infrastructure sucks
crime is very high
the state government is notoriously corrupt
it's "dirty"

Argenitna sucks at

economy
honesty of authorities
education
correct money investement

But it has it good things like:

one of the most variated ambients
the best meat in the world (main exportator of this shit to other country's)
the hottest girls ever
best soccer team (I'm talking about players itself, not about the results wich are pretty bad lately)

so in conclussion, economically and politically argentina sucks.... but it has the best potential to be a central country, like germany, Uk, holland, france, etc.... but we are still a semi-periferic country and if we keep going like this we will may be a periferic country like some countrys of africa....
my question is : WHY??, well, simple... corruption in authority's, bad investement in money + shit in authoritys head..... the state governour has recently bought a $ 5 mill. house and a USD 500.000 deluxe car... when you are a state governour you dont win more than 6 or 7 thousend of pesos argentinos..... so how can he have such nice things??, well simple, he administrates the whole IVA money (21 % of everything you buy) and doesent use everything for new schools, etc,etc... he just keep's some of it in his pocket....

other reason why aregentina sucks like I said before bad investement in money.... the state allway's is sending money to poor ppl... how the fuck can you do that??? instade of giving them work, they just send em money without  doing anything... if u want money, just go for it, get a job or something, but no, here in arghentina if u are poor you have 100% of secureness that state is going to give u something... and in this way you will make something else worse, education....

canada is a chillin place, quite peaceful, and not too many things for me to worry about like corruption, violence, lack of jobs, etc. etc.

sometimes it's boring and it gets too cold.  i hate the cold.  i want summer.

agreed. Also, there's no real national identity here.

I want to come to Ireland. I want to see what inspired all those great poets and novelists...

BEER

way to trivialize the gigantic achievements of people with infinitely more beautiful souls than yours.

But the joke was actually clever. I just didn't like it.
