Not Doin' Lowers For A Very Long Time ?
« on: Feb 06, 2009, 11:45: PM »
I couldnt practice lowers for a long time now...
I didnt juggle a ball for like 18 days now...
So guys, did this ever happen to you ?
And when you started to practice again, did you have the same old level or way less
Do i have to continue on my old level or start from 0 ? :dontknow:

I know that feeling way too good... sadly

I've had 2 long injuries, it was the same one, and i had it for 2-3 month each time, where i didnt practice lowers or sitdowns..

Im not exacly as good as i were at lowers before my injury, you can say that i forgot how to do it a little bit.. Especially the basic tricks, but also every other trick for that matter

I had 3 long breaks like that
when I started again I was a bit worse but didn't have to start from scratch
My lowers were already very pathetic before the injuries, so that might have helped to minimize the decrease in skill over time

I had 1 year break, couldn't do atw-htw combos anymore but the hard tricks were still in it. thats why I can't do combos but still manage to do some hard tricks haha

18 days is not much... you are just rusty. you have not lost your skills

they will come back. and in short time, if you practice alot, the skills will get even better

good luck and dont give up ;)

i didnt practice lowers for about 2-3 weeks and they have gotten alot worse. :bang:
They are improving again now since i started fsing again but there was a big gap in atws/style after the 3 weeks.
Its just rust!

i dont really think it has an effect on everyone if they dont fs for a long time....for eg iv left fs for months and i cud only do a latw at that time...but when i got back into it i cud surprisingly do an latw-latw the first day i freestyled.Stuff like watching freestyle videos can make u want to freestyle..that can help u get back to your top freestyle level .
joe is my plumber and my freestyle friend

from wat ive learnt in psychology, u wont be effected that much. after 1 hour or 2 hours, u will regain full skill level or about the same.

-Don't break combos.
-Don't use crossovers to save combos.
-If you're a new freestyler looking to improve, check the stickys in the help and advice section.
