I you were really willing to think outside the box, you'd be listening to prog rock. But four bucks says you're not.

He's really good, he puts a lot of effort and love into making songs. His lyrics really make sense.

Its poll time
Mr. T once fought superman over a bet to see who was stronger. The loser had to wear their underwear on the outside of their clothes.

definitely nothing special about this performance. hip-hop acts will never be amongst the greatest acts around. moby said it best with the comment on james brown. he is a real entertainer and musician.  you kids need to get off this rap garbage and start listening to different stuff. music has so much more to offer than any rapper or hip-hop artists will ever, so try to discover it.

last time i checked this album wasn't even rap

hip hop is a very creative form of music; all you need is your mouth and a creative mind. you need to sway away from the main stream crap that you are exposed to and culture yourself my friend. go listen to the cold vein, come back, tell me "it sucked", so i can laugh at you

Tell me how you can't see the greatness in that. He puts it all out there. There's nobody better at performing and entertaining than him. Face it...

A good performer? May be.
A good musician? NO.

you can't seriously be trying to tell me to culture myself in music when you actually defend this genre. if you want cultured try listening to jazz, bluegrass, folk, or anything other than hip-hop bullshit. yes me and mikael both listen to heavy metal(i hate most of what mikael listens to too), but the understanding of what is musically good is much better than this garbage. hip-hop is probably the least creative art form in music for many years. mainly just samples other peoples works and makes random rhymes. please humor me more about how i need to be cultured by listening to more hip-hop.

Ha-ha, same. Both of my parents have been pro. musicians for over 20 years and they can't stand anything that I listen too but, however, they both agree that hardcore/metal is MUCH harder to produce and play than all that rap/hip-hop junk.
I can't understand why someone would say that people who have ABSOLUTELY NO musical education can write better music than the ones who spent years in music schools and are still trying to improve their skills. :) Also, the vocals... That's the main reason I find post-hardcore so good. The variations between screaming/low pitched vocals and extremely high pitched vocals make my days go better.
But whatever, this thread is about Kanye West, not rock, and it's ok to like rap better than rock/metal, but it's wrong to say that it takes more skills.

Edit:
I like this song a lot. I like both: the lyrics and performance.

Im not dissagreein with your post, although lyrics written by many rap artists are brilliant. You can't say rappers have an easier job than the musicians of rock. Ask one of your favourite artists to write down a rap, its not as easy as you say.

Most rappers have a very large vocabulary, they are able to put together words amazingly and poetically. It seems youve done your research on your genre of music, maybe you should research on rap to straighten your facts.

This is a top drawer performance. He's takin his music, performances and style to a whole new level. Thats why a lot of people are now hatin on his, coz people love to put labels and kanye was the rap category. But then he changed directions and stepped outside the rap box and now everyones a bit lost on how to think about it so its easier to hate on things that are new and fresh instead of respectin it for what it is, fuckin quality music. Thats what happened to every artist that was ahead of his time, nothin to be worried about.

I got the new album and its the best album put out in ages. I love the fact that its so raw, in a way that when you're listenin to it you can feel the state of mind/heart the artist was in when he was makin it, like the feeling behind it. Thats fuckin raw. Just like Mozart with Requiem, Kurt Cobain with Somethin in the way, Pac with changes etc

I love his jacket btw, think its pastelle's

Tupac FTW!   :pimp:
Even though Heartless is quite a good song, I don't see how that can make him the best rapper or whatever.

Like I said, think outside the box for fucks sake. It's not rap!

So, you're actually trying convincing us to change our likes in genres? I mean, that's like telling a hard rock fan (like Mikael), to start listening to rap.

Sure, Kanye stepped outside the box, but that doesn't mean we have to follow him. If Kanye would step out from a cliff, would you follow him?

Have you guys ever considered people have different taste in music, and that people won't change their likes in musik only because one artist does? Come on, guys. You can do better.

The way I can see it, Kanyes new genre shizzle his doing, it's uncool.

To be honest, I think most artists put their hearts into what they're doing. Just take Katy Perry as an example, didn't you just feel a sudden urge to kiss a girl? (Yes, Golo, a boy will do fine as well).
