Are aerial boosters worth the money?

I bought a new LCD tele for my room today, cost me alot so im after a good picture but my aerial is awful, I got the aerial at the same time as the tele so its new and cost me £10, but im wondering if I should buy a booster to help,

but are they worth the money or should I buy a real aerial and put it in the loft?
