Confederate flag in Spain

I think this has been discussed before...but i forgot; i always see Confederate flags at La Liga games in the crowds, and it makes me wonder, what does it mean to these people?

i've tried looking online, but i can't get a definite answer; anyone know? i'm sure conner will pull something up.

Its either meant to be racist.. or a sign of rebelism (basques, catalonia etc.) . Not sure

carlists fought alongside the confederacy (especially the louisiana tigers) in war of northern aggression  :lol:.  that's more of an interesting tidbit than an actual link

spain is decentralized as fuck.  i would assume that there would be a connection between their autonomous administrative divisions and the confederacy

it's also used as a symbol among ultra groups throughout europe, but i don't think that applies here.  for once, i think someone has more than a superficial understanding of what went on

if people are flying the confederate flag in spain it is for racist reasons. the confederate flag isn't considered to be as bad as the nazi flag thats why they fly it. i despise anyone who flies this flag. where i live many people have this flag up in their yards or as bumpers stickers. it means nothing but racism, so it should be banned from matches. if you fly this flag in any way you yourself are a racist.
