Modern Football
« on: Oct 09, 2008, 09:09: AM »

So I been reading a few articles and stuff on modern football, and I find it quite interesting, so I thought I'd share some stuff.

http://timesonline.typepad.com/fanzine_fanzone/2008/08/theyll-only-mis.html  - Fairly long, but good read.

So this is pretty english based, but what are your opinions?

Personally I think money and commerce is starting to ruin football, it has become a multi-million pound (w/e currency) business for some. At the top level of football there doesn't seem to be much loyalty or passion anymore in my opinion. Players just seem to be bothered about how much money they can make and believe that they're superstars. Also they will agree to move to a club because of the transfer fee involved, when they don't even know who their moving to. *cough* Robinho *cough*

So f**k you modern football!

great first article because the guy speaks the truth

the game is becoming a who makes more money and not about having a good time

they want us to have a good time by only clapping when goals are scored
WHere's the logic in that!?

i dont like it one bit
"Aim to master the particular movement, whatever it may be, by refining and refining until no one but yourself can tell the difference between a movement you are satisfied with and one you know to be imperfect."

Yeah respect to that guy, thats class.  I mean fair enough make a good living from it, but 100k a week just from football (not incl. sponsorship) thats crazy.
Most people who support my local club would die to play for them, nevermind england, so some of these players take the piss.

I know, its becoming a spectator sport, sit down, be quiet and respect the opposition...

what is it with every body and money,

if clubs didn't make money we would never see players at different leagues, think of it in another way besides ruins the game
