Lopsided ball

I have one cheapo ball that wobbles horribly when rolled in a straight line slowly on a level surface.  I have a slightly-more-expensive ball that wobbles a bit, but not as badly.

I have to assume that the less balanced a ball is, the harder it would be to get it to cooperate (predictably) on stalls and uppers.

What causes a ball to become lopsided or unbalanced?  Is there a cure for a lopsided or unbalanced ball?  Is there a (real) correlation between how much a ball costs and how long it stays round/balanced?  Do all balls eventually get wobbly and unstable?

depends what you have been using the ball for i have bought new premiership balls from a store and the same day ive made them go lopsided or like an egg shape it sometimes does depend on the ball but it seems easier for me to do it to the cheaper balls the more expensive seem to keep there shape i mainly egg these balls from hitting it to hard wen having a kick around so if you have been kicking it against a wall for instance to hard that could be your problem solution buy a good ball like euro 2008 or champions league padded balls i havent had much problem with them but they may not be that good for freestyle

Cures for lopsided balls haven't been discovered yet unfortunately. Balls will stay balanced forever if you play with them often but when you stop playing with the balls this is when they become wobbly and redundant.

i guess and plus if you leave them outside and the rain gets to the ball the water gets inside the ball and can take a while to dry it all out again maybe leaving it outside can do some damage also if you are using a ball for a kick about then u could get 2 balls one for freestyle which you keep clean etc and the other to just have a kick around etc ive played with lopsided balls many of times and you really need to buy a new one if it is lopsided

sitting on your ball doesnt help or trying to balance both legs on it, if mine ever get egged i just go that the other size to make it even, sometimes works, not always

this is all good advice so far, folks -- thank you.  i'll be out to get a fresh ball tomorrow.... no use struggling to do headstalls with a ball that won't balance no matter what.

pump the ball up really hard, let it stay for a while so the ball can retain the shape, and then let a little bit of air out and try it out.

when buying a ball, roll it on the floor and make sure its round first  :thumbsup:

But I guess the more quality balls are more expensive, just don't spend loads on them.

And like the common cold, there is and will be no cure for lopsided balls. But I do hope you're talking about footballs.... :saywhat:

Yeah, footballs of course.  My "other" balls are lopsided, but that's by design.  One hangs lower than the other, and the older I get.... okay enough talk about my lopsided balls.  LOL    :thumbsup:
