Wtf!
« on: Sep 26, 2008, 12:17: PM »
Ok, for some reason my latest video on youtube was blocked because someone claimed copyrights or something like that,
then I checked on my account and there was this message:

"A copyright owner has claimed it owns some or all of the audio content in your video Javi - Freestyle Football. The audio content identified in your video is Train by Flipsyde. We regret to inform you that your video has been blocked from playback due to a music rights issue."

So, my question is:
Can people claim copyrights just by using their music?
and, in this case, was Flypside the one that claimed copyrights?

I'm sorry if you don't get my question cause of my shitty english
btw, sorry if this is in a wrong section.

ur english is understandable. i c wat happend, the ppl who produce that artist music found out u used there song without there primission. legally if the company complains to youtube, they must take it off. its unlucky that they found it

make sure u dont use there name in ur discription so they wont find u. hope i helped u gain an understanding.
peace out.

Rather unfortunate. I'm sorry mate I wish I could help you but I can't.
Fx blesses himself before a patw combo, Tiernan blesses himself before a neck to sole transition.... but hey thats next generation
I was going to be there...but now I'm not going to be there

just think, the company watched your video  they must be freestyle fans to find it

But that means that around 90% of videos are copyrighted

This happened to me too, a year ago I think, but not due to a music rights issue, but due to SoccerShowdown! I received an e-mail where Youtube said that two of my vids had to be removed from Youtube.
Here's what they said:

"Dear Member:

This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by Soccer Showdown Bv claiming that this material is infringing:

Sven Freestyle Football 6:
[...]" (click on the video twice and look what youtube said)

I don't know why it was removed, because everything in the video was from me, exept from the songs, so I didn't know why Soccer Showdown claimed that the material was infringing, as they don't produce any song. I replied to Youtube and explained everything, but they did not do anything :dontknow: From that day on I hate SSD :cursing:

"Dear birchissaud,

UMG has claimed some or all audio content in your video Step Up 2 (Bounce remix by Royal Freakiness & StepUp2Music). This claim was made as part of the YouTube Content Identification program.

Your video is still live because UMG has authorized the use of this content on YouTube. As long as UMG has a claim on your video, they will receive public statistics about your video, such as number of views. Viewers may also see advertising on your video's page."
