it's a freestyle version of one i know. you have to do a 100-trick-combo with only atw, htw and tatw. atw is worth 5 points, htw is worth 100 points and tatw is worth 500 points. the combo should be worth exactly 10000 points and be 100 tricks. so how many of each trick in the combo?

It's the middeladges. A thief wants to get into a castle but sees a guard in front of the door. In his back he sees a priest coming. He hides in the bushes near the road and listenes to the conversation between the priest and the guard.
Priest: can i go in?
Guard: You need to know the password: six
Priest: three
Then the guard let's the priest in. 'Interesting' thinks the thief. Then he sees a merchant coming.
Guard: Goodday, you know the password? eightteen
Merchant: nine
Guard: Correct, you may enter.
'Even more interesting' thinks the thief. 'I should say half the number the guard sais. I'll wait for one more to be sure.' Then another merchant arrives.
Guard: Hello, can you tell me the password? Twelve
Merchant: Six
Guard: Okay, you may enter the castle.
Now the thief is sure. He goes to the entrance of the castle and the guard holds him.
Guard: You know the password? Four
Thief: Two
Guard: You are wrong. Guards take this man and bring him to prison.

What did the thief do wrong?
