Haha, I was about to reply with the same thing. Huge miss by the guy who made his debut though!

Germany killed Russia in the first half and deservedly went up 2-0. Russia was a completely different team in the second half though, and we scraped by 2-1.

Bosnia was 1-0 up in Turkey, but ended up losing 2-1.

Rooney continues his very good form.

Brazil 4 - 0 Venezuela

Kaká (5)
Robinho (9)
Adriano (19)
Robinho (66)

Now that's more like it from Brazil.  Very typical scorers and that's how it should be.  You need good performances like that from your best.  Only Ronaldinho is missing, but that's because he wasn't called up.

There are still some questionable players in their line up though:

Kleber, Gilberto Silva, and Josue.  Mancini and Daniel Alves started on the bench.

Great win from Brasil; last time around in a friendly Venezuela beat them :booty:

Adriano is slowly coming back to a confident striker. I'd like to see Anderson playing that role Gilberto is playing though (didn't see the game so i'm not sure how they lined up though).

COMNEBOL is heating up

You think Anderson can play as a defensive midfielder? Am I misunderstanding something?

------------------------------------------------

Germany won a close one against Wales. Germany had most of the possession and shots but couldn't score.

Rooney got another 2 goals.  :saywhat:

Bosnia beat Armenia! Belgium and Turkey both dropped points which is perfect for us.  We are now only 1 point out of 3rd and 2 out of 2nd.

No, you aren't misunderstanding. Anderson is an animal; i've seen him slotted in that role when Brasil played Mexico in the Copa America; he locked people down. I've also seen him play as a more attack minded midfielder, but his leading trait, to me, is his strength. He's a physical, dirty, hardhitting player.

I know he has a tough side to him but that's not enough to play him there at the top level. It's going to take much more than that to play that role. Hell, if some members on here don't think Essien is cut out to be the defensive mid for Chelsea, how in the world can Anderson play as the defensive mid for Brazil?

I think he can play the center mid position, but not defensive mid. It takes more discipline and even better defensive ability. If you don't have the defensive ability (Pirlo) you have to be outrageous with your passing ability. He doesn't have either. He's more of a dribbler and all around player.
