improving upper style
« on: Aug 15, 2008, 02:21: AM »
hi i took a clip of some of my uppers on my phone yest. and  thought  hmm i dont like the style.
what do u think the best way to improve ur upper style is??
just keep  repeating the tricks til u get comfy ie just give  it time
or actually work on it straight away, ie try and  modify the way u execution tricks now.
or anything else?

I haven't seen ur uppers, but maybe u should make it look easy. In the start, u'll prolly loose the ball but practise until u can do them and make them look easy. I'm not an expert on uppers, but i think it's worth a try.

i would just try to make it look easy
not raise your arms alot on shoulder stall or 360..etc.
and maybe try and stand in just one place.

thanks for the tips so far, yes my shoulder stalls look wrank
personally i think my 360s actually look better with arms raised than when in pockets haha, but with most other ppl pockets are the bomb.
yes i think control is important too, i move around alot when moving esp from lip-nose-head

all you need are long practice sessions. My freestyle ma'e didn't know how to headstall but in 10 min I tought him. In an hour he already started doing combos on the head. and after like 3 hours his style was like a pro's. But I'm still better than him. :P

I think uppers are the easiest things, you just keep practicing. style will come with it. Once you know the bond between the ball and every part of your upper body, you'll do great things. :D

as they say - PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT -
