asian countries sure do a good job through the early years, but there are definitely institutions in america that many ppl all over the world aspire to.

as far as early education the u.s. sucks.  We baby our youth by not challenging them.  I had a Korean friend who said he was doing Algebra in like 3rd or 4th grade.  When does the U.S. start teaching Algebra?  In public schools its 9th grade (some have pre-algebra crap in 8th).  At least that's the way it is in the South.  Not sure about other places here.  There are programs for accelerated learning, but why don't we just put everyone through that?  Damn education system.  the upper education is good though.   Just takes forever to get to that point

i was all over the place during primary and secondary school.  i'm glad that i was given the time to pull myself together.

shit, the process of "pulling myself together" has run into "university".

many kids are too fucked up to challenge before "university," IMO.

if someone made me do shit in "high school," i would've exploded.

i know of a lot of dudes whose parents were all over them during "high school" that have fallen apart during "university."

(not that algebra is particularly advanced for a 3-4th grader.   i had algebra before 9th grade.  i don't think that it put me in a particularly great position, and i feel that i could've done it WAY before i was taught it--wouldn't have done me too much good though)

In cities like Detroit, DC, and especially New Orleans, the early education and public schooling is horrible...absolutely horrible.

As far as Universities go, the US has plenty of great schools and students that could rival that of any nation.

100% agreed.
American Universities are better than most of the other countries'. As for schools: You can join clubs during HS, so if you're into music you can join a music club, if you're into math you can join their club.

Cause you try to talk about something you know nothing about. Bush isn't the leader, and he'll be out of the House in a few months.
