I love living in a pretty nice city man (don't get me wrong any city can get hectic). But today I was at the train station in another area. These  dudes with red bananas where on the platform as well, these guys think they are in LA its fucking sad. I happened to be wearing a blue bandanna for style purposes, I don't bang its pretty stupid, dudes didn't do shit, they where just giving me greasy looks when I wasn't looking.
thats real life in O, i wear black and white only, if you check my closet aint no red or blue cause i dont bang either, I hold down work though.

@Elite: Fool, your ridiculous you came at me first saying I am an internet thug or some shit, not cause i couldn't top your rhymes, your rhymes are koo, but nothin i can't handle, don't get ahead of yourself. Credibility came into play when you was callin me a joke

Trust me fool, a lot of people would rather hit up New Orleans then Town Bizz, look at the tourist numbers of Oakland and New Orleans, it's staggering. New Orleans has tons of tourists, it's pretty safe and i been there

=/=

i don't have anything against you or oakland, but that's a paper thin argument.  it would be very similar to me saying that "since clorox is headquartered in oakland, i have nothing to worry about"

every place is going to have their bad places and their good places

in new orleans, you may not have to worry about the color of your clothes, but when all is said and done, you sure as fuck have to worry about "do i look like i'm supposed to be here"

corrupted cops and politicians, misdemeanor murder, and drug violence = one clusterfuck of a city

disclaimer:  that's not to say that new orleans is any more violent than any other city.  however, new orleans is certainly not a "safe" city.  it's a very unique city and many tourists, similar to you, find themselves in trouble after they've taken the wrong turn

anyway, back on topic

I  see your point dog, but if you wanna use the "everywhere has it's bad parts of town" statement, then nowhere is safe. I meant that New Orleans is safe by my standards, and what i been through. But yeah that was my bad for sayin that it's all good and safe, but for the most part it is. There is towns in Arizona and conneticut that are hard, but are nowhere on the level of Oakland. Hope that makes sense playboy.

Hope that makes sense playboy.

it does and it doesn't.  it doesn't because that really wasn't what i was getting at.

let me put it to you this way:

there are places in oakland where i'm sure i'd feel perfectly safe.  there are places in new orleans where i feel perfectly safe.

there are places in oakland where i'm sure i wouldn't feel safe.  there are places in new orleans where i don't feel safe.

if i was visiting oakland, i'm sure that when i was where i needed to be that i would feel perfectly safe.  if you visit new orleans, you will, for the most part, be in places where you should feel perfectly safe.  however, that says nothing about the other parts of either town.

but again, new orleans is a pretty unique city.  i've seen it compared to johannesburg, south africa (i haven't been to johannesburg and won't comment) in the sense that you can be in a perfectly fine part of town on one street and run into a relatively bad part of town on the next.  many people don't realize, especially when they are walking through the city, in what kind of part of town they are in.  this is a real problem during mardi gras.  walk to the end of the french quarter and you are in a relatively bad part of town in which you are liable to have the fuck kicked out of you and all of your shit stolen.  fortunately, this is not an extremely bad portion of town. (this is how i understand it to be.  while i do know a fair amount about the city, i have never lived in new orleans and don't plan to unless i'm rolling in dough.)

Clearly not disputing that dog, I mentioned that not all New Orleans is peaches and cream. But New Orleans has a lot of tourist attractions and all that, historic attractions, jazz etc. Town Bizz is not where you wanna be, even the good parts, are bad. There is obviously a rich part, but its more like middle class compared to other standards ). That is my point. basically, our worst is worse than your worst. The Town is grimey, and i know some parts of New Orleans is, but Oakland is just THAT town for street bidness
