Techno? Please. That is not even music. All it is, is a synthesizer having a panic attack. Get real.

Classic Rock mostly. Grew up listening to that shit with Mom, and went back to it a little bit,
and listen to mainly hard rock now, and I really like acoustic rock too (Nirvana type, Grungy).

Stone Temple Pilots and Metallica will always be my two favorite bands.

But, like I said, I'll never not like that Bay-Area Hyphy shit  :rockit:

Royalfreakiness is a good guy and a good kid (atleast he admitted he is a rookie), but I mean, the rapping. In fact, not even just him. Its the whole damn forum  Cigar Omar, Tito, and Elite got something, but I mean, boys, come on, your killing me here

you should get into the indie scene...make the same transition I did. I started out listening to classic rock, some grunge, some punk, and then I few friends turned me onto some really excellent indie rock bands.
TJ, I think you'd like the Constantines.

Also, an interesting question: what separates rap from poetry with internal rhyme and flow, in your opinion? Or is there even a separation?  Because when you read Saul Williams or K'naan, it reads like poetry. When you read lil' wayne, it doesn't (that could be because lil' wayne is shit, but...). Wondering what people's takes are.

I am open to new music, so suggest me some songs and I'll have a listen. I use Itunes (Yeah, I actually pay for my songs--go figure), so give me the best songs and I'll buy 'em.

As for your question, Hold ya head by 2pac. That is poetry. You don't even have to listen to the song. Just read the lyrics and its crazy. It all depends on the theme of the song. Obviously if your hoppin' out the bed and turnin' the swag on like whack-ass soulja boy, its not poetry and is just mindless garbage. Which is why I turned back over to rock for the time being.

I like hyphy rap though, as dumb as it is, thats the point. Gettin' dumb, going retarded, its fun music, you can't be serious all the time. Sometimes its cool to just gig out.

San Jo is a lot different though. I don't hear it as much

later, when i have time, i'll pm you a list. Alternately, just look at all the albums I listed on the 'best album ever' thread.

Yeah I understand why people listen to that stuff, I just don't dig it so much.

I like 2pac ok....honestly I'm more into digital underground, though.

Haha! The humpty dance

People see 2pac and just think of the 'Gangsta Westcoast' radio shit.
I bet nobody really bothered to look past the main singles on the albums and
really dig into the softer shit which happened to be his best stuff.

As for bay-area stuff, its just that. If your not from the bay its hard to get into it. Its a cultural thing.

Yeah most 2pac fans are ignorant to his best songs. I hate faggots who listen to nothing but 2pac and when you look at their play list its all fake remixes and diss songs.
