Stretching n flexing
« on: Jun 27, 2008, 04:32: AM »

What kinda exercises if any do you do to loosen your muscles and to increase flexibility?

I've started doing Progressive Muscle Relaxation in the last few days, dunno how it will help but i'll see.

Essentially it's a kinda stress release approach but I think will help my flexibility in the long term. It's also meditation, so calms me down too, a useful tool to have mentally.
A lot of people will be like wtf thats gay or whatever. Immature mufuckas!

All the best athletes use mental imagery which is a form of meditation/visualisation. It works.

Actually, you should do Self-myofascial release (SMR) with a foam roller if possible, it does wonders:

nice link!

but why spend $10? although that is nice and cheap...i already do similar exercises with a football.

i use the football as an exercise ball, it loosens my back especially and i've never tried but would work for the rest of my body too no doubt.

and you cant go wrong with streching it is important for preventing injuries and it works with stamina too. when you stretch you are supposed to feel a slight discomfort but not pain. stetching everything well is supposed to take about 30 min...
