mastroeni sent off in the 71st (second yellow.  no one could figure out what for)

mascherano sent off in the 85thish (second yellow).

onyewu hit the crossbar for the us.  julio cruz had a few pretty good opportunities.

freddy adu was fouled 5+ times in 30ish minutes    :rolleyes:

landon was back  :pimp:

pretty good game for a 0-0 friendly

no. The younger players have developed a bit more, and the U.S has sustained their solid play. I can see a berth in the quarter finals in 2010 if they continue to develop.

ah, that's reasonable.  i go into skeptical mode after every us game.  many fans express a variety of knee-jerk emotions after every game.

shit, if i would've listened to what i was hearing last summer after the copa america, i would've thought that we were no better than barbados.  sometimes i think that many people would rather do well in friendly or insignificant tournament than the world cup itself.   :lol:

well the thing with US fans is that they all come from different countries, so they are all skeptical of the US. It's the same way in Camada, except we really do have a shit system. Hence the pessimism.

i think it's just a general fan thing.  you see it to some degree all over the world.  most supporters are american born and bred anyway.  many first, second, etc. generation hyphenated americans tend to support their "home-country."
