« on: Jan 07, 2008, 08:44: PM »
You here has strict parents or used to have strict parents, i know i do!! Well i currently live with my grandparents and they are pretty strict, defintly have calmed down alot this new year now that i will be turning 18. Like i went out on new years, first time i might add, and i came home next morning, they were upset but not as upset asi would of thought. Now i can just go out my house watever time and come home during the night and they are okay with it. So im pretty happy atm

That kinds of stuff goes away as you get older. You'll also need to understand that parents are parents they are not being tight asses they are just looking out for you, you'll understand when you get older or even have kids of your own. If my parents tell me not to do something I won't do it simple as that, doesn't matter if I'm 19 or 45.

+ karma for that, so true.

my mother was the same ive always been allowed to swear in front of here but not in a serious way and not words like cunt or fuck. my mother does worry too much some times if i go out drinking because of the amount of chavs that just beat people up when there drunk for no reason. but that wont be much of a problem now because half of them are in prison hahahaha

when you get older you realise how much your parents have done for you and become more thankful for the things they have given you over the years. off my fathers wage we've managed to have a house right next to the sea, a swimming pool, a house in italy and great holidays. because my father never went out drinking or smoked cigarettes and conserved money well.

the amount of times my parents have said dont do something and i have gone ahead and done it anyway ive always suffered the consequences. like the time i was grounded for going off with my mates to climb some rocks and i still went out later that day while i was grounded because my parents had gone out i ended up splitting my pancreas and being in hospital for 9 weeks at the start of the summer holiday lol

yeah. sure parents are just worried about you, want to help you. teach you what's right or wrong. and it's sure that as you get older they let you do more and more, cuz you know more and more. this way finally you'll have enough knowledge and experience so that you'll be able to live on your own later.

Same here, except other way around. My mom is pretty nice, gives me money and everything. I know life isn't about money and stuff but still, she'll help me when I need her. My dad is the type to never throw anything out, he'll fix it, and is very cautious with his money. He hates spending money. We bought a big house and some pretty good cars but they're like 15 years old. And I ask my dad.. how come you don't buy yourself nice cars, and he always repies, because the value of cars go down with time, but with a house, it goes up, that's why I invested in a big house to get more money when I sell it.. ;)

+1 these young lads don't understand just about yet. I only began to fully realize this in the last 2 years. Also you don't realize how much they mean to you until they (example) go overseas for a while and your sick, hungry and broke as hell, I'm living that right now but they're come back in 2 days anyway.  :pimp:

my parents were incredibly strict. i dont think i even swore till i was in 7th grade. i hated it back then but looking back i am a bit greatful for it. i think i have turned out ok and people compliment me on my manners all the time. though i admit i did miss out on a little fun living with my parents i think that it was all for the best.
