Referral Contest - Prizes

Hey guys,

I just added a Referral System to the forum.  If you click on the Profile button at the top, you will see a Beyond Football link you can give to your friends to click and register.  Each person that registers under your link will give you a referral.

I will start a competition soon for the top referring members.  Maybe do top 3.  I would love to make it a huge prize like a Matchball but I think those are like $200.  I'll see what I can do.

Please post your thoughts on prizes we could give out that would motivate people to invite as many people as possible.  We need prizes for the top 3 I think.

Okay, first of all i think its a great idea! About the prizes, i think u can get a matchball for about half the original price if u look after it thinking more about it, its not fair for u Adi to pay the money for the prizes unless ur rich or something    Good idea to give prizes for top 3, ofc smaller prizes for 2 and 3...what could it be??

I think that maybe for now, let's start with a little more modest rewards. When this form will bring the desired results, you can make a valuable prize.

I agree.
I'd also like to add that it's not the top person, the top person could have 3 and you will be forced to give a prize away. Secondly you could make 3 accounts with little effort if you have a dynamic IP address. There needs to be more variables to consider. The new accounts have to have a certain number of posts before they're considered a real member would be one variable.
Every referral should give something, if we still have that shop it could be something like 300 points.

I got rid of the Shop since it was kinda pointless after seeing it in action for a while.  It also pulled up a bunch of errors which slowed the forum, so I got rid of it.

As far as prizes go, maybe I can get Nam to offer us some shirts and gear.

L_I_S, I agree... we need to monitor it a bit but hopefully people won't cheat much.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to see who referred who, but I'll look into it.
