messi vs c.ronaldo(skill&technique)
« on: Aug 16, 2012, 09:28: PM »
Such is Messi’s skill that the ball can appear glued to his feet as he maneuvres himself out of tight situations and finds teammates when it seems he is surrounded. Messi, like Ronaldo, can use the backheel to great effect and also has a penchant for looping the ball over a defender and collecting it on the other side. 10/10.

Ronaldo is more of a showman than Messi and can take the breath away with his array of stepovers and flicks. But in some matches, when the stepovers are taking him nowhere and he is attempting backheels that are not finding team-mates, Ronaldo stands accused of producing style over substance. He is blessed with tremendous natural ability and when on song he is a joy to watch, but he has more ineffectual matches than Messi. 9/10.

how about guys....guys think who must will win :13:

Overall i would say Messi. But i think is better in some situations because he is stronger and better in the air with headers etc.

How would Messi do on a cold wet night vs Stoke? Ronaldo handles that situation better i think.

But Messi is less selfish and is more clever with his passing so i still vote for Messi (El Messiah  )

But Ronaldo deserves the Ballon D'or this year because this year he was better
forget Ronaldinho....only one deserves the -inho suffix......Jabarinho!!!!

Messi is a better passer. Ronaldo is a better finisher whether it's shooting, heading, free kicks, etc. Dribbling is very close as they are both extremely technical dribblers, but they have distinctively different styles. Messi chooses to be much simpler which benefits his passing game as he looks to just use simple cuts to go pass defenders. Ronaldo has just about every trick in the book as far as dribbling goes, but he is most effective when he is direct and uses his pace. Ronaldo clearly is better physically as he is bigger, stronger, and probably a little bit faster.

Really, comparing the two to see who is better is silly. They are two amazing, but different players. I do think Messi is in the perfect atmosphere for his style of play. Ronaldo has proven effective in more than one system. The fact is it's really too tough to tell whether one is better than the other. Messi will get the popular vote currently, but that's just a popularity contest.

i'll say that Ronaldo definitely is better overall, he has great longshots, which Messi doesnt do as good. He is, as u say jaba, good at headers, better than messi. People can say that its bad for Ronaldo that hes selfish but its also one of his strengths, if he was not, he would for example not score as many goals as he does now. I think Ronaldo is a much more complete football player than Messi and that's why I think he's best  ;) (All respect to Leo, no doubt he's awesome)   :13:
