Ibra & Thiago Silva to PSG for 62 million
« on: Jul 12, 2012, 05:08: AM »
Quote
Paris Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo has confirmed that negotiations are under way with AC Milan over a deal for both Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the total cost reported at €62 million.

Those guys have too much money, but would be a hell of a coup if they got these two.  62 million is about right... Silva is worth 35 I'd say.

I'd love to see this  happen. Having PSG be a super power in Europe would be beautiful to watch.

PSG are going to exciting to watch in the champ league this season.

                 Zlatan

Lavezzi     Pastore        Menez

.......and Thiago Silva in defence too.

Would be interesting to see how Milan tries to replace these guys. It can't be anyone expensive because they obviously have financial problems.

They also have to replace Nesta who left to go to the MLS. Milan look weak right now.

Milan have agreed to sell their striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the defender Thiago Silva to Paris St-Germain, the club's owner Silvio Berlusconi was reported as saying on Thursday.

"Yes, I have sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG. We'll save 150 million euros in two years," Berlusconi was quoted as saying on the website of Gazzetta dello Sport.

It said the final details of the sale had not been agreed but the two players would move on for around €65m (£51.5m).

I'd love to see this  happen. Having PSG be a super power in Europe would be beautiful to watch.

yeah its cool to see more french teams pushing for the higher levels of europe, l'OM got quite far in ucl last time, it would be great to see the German-English-Spanish domination change
but is Zlatan the right choice? he's getting a bit older, maybe he will have lost his speed/form in 3 years, its difficult to see them making a profit out of him in, might have thought they would have bought an up and coming striker
but maybe i'm wrong!

i suppose they chose Ibra for his experience so they can get some immediate results. Also because he has a big star name to get fans excited and maybe sell some t-shirts. They can probably make a good profit if they get man fans in the stadium every week and many t-shirts sold.

Of course i'm sure their first choice would have been a younger striker, but not everyone wants to go to PSG.

I don't think PSG has all that many options.  Ibra is a huge name and quality player, plus he'd want to sign there.

Deal is not done yet, but would be a hell of a coup for PSG.

As far as Milan is concerned, I think they would adopt Juventus' successfully strategy of pulling in good young players from Italy and then also add a few international pieces like Vidal (great performer in another league, but under the radar of most top teams).
