i'll give u a tip it worked for me...
well it becomes natural after sometime...
apply some (in very little quantity) water to your shin just sort of wet that surface
then  do a footstall and try movement of the leg with the ball ... you'll be able to to some movement in the very first time.. and after sometime you just don't have to wet that surface it becomes natural and happens everytime...
also what material ball are you using also matters a lot.... my ball has a raxine so the grip is very good...
one more thing if the ball has good amount of air in it then it is DIFFICULT to do it... a ball which has less air is easy to grap with your shin... so i guess it's gonna help you... good luck   :victory:
and tell me if it works all it's gonna take is hardly 1 or 2 days to get the sweet spot or the touch i hope it helps...  :039:  :)

To be honest, it depends on a couple of factors, mostly what ball and shoes you use, as well as the strength of your front shin muscles and mobility of your ankles.

The easiest way is to use a rubber ball, like the Urbanball, for example.

If you prefer regular footballs or don't have access to a ball made of rubber, the next best thing is to get one of those cheap Adidas (Glider, Capitano, Top Training) or Nike (Strike, Pitch) replicas which are made of a material that's a bit rubbery. Also, some of the older Adidas matchballs like Teamgeist or Europass are also cool.

What also plays a roll is what material is the upper of your shoes made of. I've found that shoes with leather upper have the best grip, not only for magnetic tricks, but also in general.

The most important thing though, is how strong your front shin muscles (tibialis anterior) are and how mobile/flexible are your ankles/calves. With strong front shin muscles you'll be able to clutch the ball harder and with the increased ankle mobility, you'll be able to bring your foot closer to your shin.

To strengthen your tibialis anterior, do this or this. To get some mobility in your ankles, do this and to stretch your calves, do this or just grab the top of your foot with your hand(s) and pull it towards yourself/your shin.

Tips & tricks:
- have a clean contact area (ball, shoes & shin), dirt and excessive sweat can screw your grip up
- if you sprinkle some soft drink on the surface of your ball and/or shoes, you'll make it sticky, thus enhancing your grip
- shaving the bottom part of the shin where the ball comes in contact helps, especially if you're really hairy

You're right! It's a special kind of footstall, one where the ball is stuck to your foot so hard, you can run with it. :)
