Akim style hard tricks
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:26: PM »
Why does Akim start most of his hardcore tricks like skatw and aeatw from the floor? In this vid at 2:52 mins he actually stops juggling to put the ball on the ground to do skmatw.

PVLC 2012 SemiFinal Hrom vs Akim

It looks strange, but when i think about it, maybe it helps with consistency of landing hard tricks because you don't have to put concentration into juggling before doing the trick.

Most fsers use a high touch on their last juggle before doing hardcore tricks like skmatw. But Akim does not need to do this because the ball is steady from the small flick-up he does.

Is Akim doing it wrong or is he a revolutionary, visionary, freestyle pioneer who teaches us a useful skill for consistency?

my dictionary tells me 'pulchritude' means beauty........in that case, yes i agree, it does not look very good and it stops the flow of a performance a little.

Could just be that he learned the majority of things while in bare feet where juggling is 10times harder and therefore he just goes on the first touch (like loads of freestylers do while in bare feet) and therefore learnt it that way and developed a preference to it.

yes true. Barefoot juggling hurts my feet and it is harder to juggle barefoot. I would not say 10 times harder, but yes a little harder. Maybe it is a habit for him now.

I would not say 10 times harder, but yes a little harder.

What would you say?  3.75678 times harder?  It's an expression, not a lyrical phrase.

Yeah, I changed it so that only the last post is quoted rather than all posts in a nested format.  It's cleaner this way.  What you think?

I rather have pro's do 3 rev tricks like this in battles than do no 3 rev tricks at all and continue their easy low risk routine...
I'm a beginner, help me!

I always considered it cheap lol  :043:
But if he can do skatw skatw combos..he would be able to do skatw from juggling of course. But I'm pretty sure he won't be able to do the combos he does now if he juggles before starting
