yeh Cech was amazing. He dived the correct way on all the penalties i think and nearly saved more of them.

I knew Olic would miss and I knew Mata would miss.

David Luiz' penalty was the best though. His run-up was huge and he was sprinting so fast i thought he would miss for sure. But it was an unstoppable top corner blast! :undecided: Great penalty!
forget Ronaldinho....only one deserves the -inho suffix......Jabarinho!!!!

Credit to chelsea though. They played well and attacked a lot more than i thought they would.

What chances did they create?  They had one proper attempt at goal and they scored off it?  Are you considering this more of an attack minded game from them because they crossed the half way line 5 times more than they did against Barca?

They parked the bus once again and didn't create anything until Drogba's goal.

Bayern 20 corners - didn't do shit with any of them.

Chelsea 1 corner - Drogba scores on it.

robben .. lost the final of the champions, lost the World Cup final
 :lol_hitting:

Add losing the Bundesliga to that list as well... he missed a penalty against Dortmund in the deciding game and also missed a tap in when in front of the goal.

Most arrogant player in the world easily beating balotelli

Robben is a good player, but he is arrogant and selfish.  In part it's what made him successful but it's also what's kills him at times.

I'm sure most people can now understand why Ribery got to the point where he had to punch him in the face.

Robben is allgood, he just didn't have his best game, chelsea fans, munich fans will know what he can do! munich had their chances, like barca they couldn't convert, its only their fault, they dominated in the attcking sense, but its no gurantee, especially with such a determined team like the chels!

when drogba converted his penalty i went balistic, ran out side in my pajamas (which was a chelsea kit id been using as pajamas for good luck), screaming chelseaaaaa!
i was crying when mueller scored, then, of all players drogba nailed one of the nicest headers! crazy!
what a game
this game vs munich and the one vs barca
so many emotions for me, i can't describe these games, but it was the best fun you can have with football thats not freestyle  im going to be on a high for a while now, all the liverpool fans and chelsea haters at school can go fuck themselves
i agree with alex i think cech, man of the match! absolute hero, he stops robben olic messi and schweinsteiger penalties in a few weeks

Congrats to you and your team.  You said it right.

One thing I can't stand is when people say "Chelsea stopped Bayern."  That's the biggest shit I've ever heard.  You at least admit that Bayern was wasteful and only has themselves to blame.  Those that say Chelsea stopped Bayern must not have seen the open chances Gomez had, the shot off the post, and the missed penalty by Robben.  All those opportunities broke down the Chelsea defense, but the final finish wasn't there.  Only Bayern to blame for that.

By the way, Cech has never been known for being a good penalty stopper, but then he stops 3 in one game.  I'm telling you... Chelsea was destined for this shit.  First Messi can ice the game with a penalty, then Robben, but nothing...

Apparently there were multiple Bayern players who turned down taking penalties.  That's when Neuer stepped up and took one for the team.  What a boss... love that guy even though he came from Schalke.  Pure respect for him.

... and yes, I didn't wanna mess with multiple quotes inside one post so I just replied to most of you through separate posts.  FTW!

I think Chelsea deserve a little credit too because they got players forward when they counter-attacked. It was not a total defensive display at all. They passed the ball well at times too.

Chelsea defenders also did well to force Bayern strikers to take hurried shots and to delay shooting sometimes.

I like Lampard's penalty too. Top center of the goal with power and unstoppable.

Di Matteo deserves to stay I think. He got this team to play a very simple, effective style of football and win too. The style is not beautiful, but not ugly either.

I am surprised how many haters just randomly came out of the forest to hate on Robben and Bayern just because they lost. Overall, any idiot can tell Bayern are the better team. They outplayed Chelsea in every aspect of the game. Credit to Chelsea for sticking to their task and defending the entire game. Drogba and Cech were absolutely amazing in this game. Chelsea got that little bit of luck that they needed in the shootout, and they won.

Arjen Robben is a fantastic player, and if you disagree, you do not know much about football. He is incredibly quick and skillful. He is a bit one footed, but his dribbling and pace are so good, he normally manages to work the ball onto his left foot to create a shot or pass. The penalty wasn't the best, but he hit it very cleanly. 9/10xs a shot with that much pace will go in on a PK. This time Cech got it right.  I think his statistics in the Bundesliga alone will show how good of a player he actually is.

German football is actually quite different than Spanish football. German football is typically about holding a good shape and working hard throughout the game. They are normally extremely efficient on set-pieces as well. This Bayern team isn't exactly the model of how most German teams play. They are much more creative and attacking than most German teams. They also attacked mainly through the wings with Robben and Ribery looking to either cross the ball to Gomez or cut in and shoot themselves.

Overall Bayern did everything right except finish  their chances and have a bit of luck. Crazy game to watch. I feel really bad to the Bayern players, especially Robben and Schweinsteiger.

I agree... he's still quality.  He got us to the final in 2010.  Remember his performances against United and other teams in the knockout round?  We just gave him a 3 year contract at 10 million a year.  He's getting top money for a reason.  Unfortunately, he hasn't come up big for us in the big games at the end of this season.  It's a real shame.

Robben actually said he meant to hit that ball hard and high.  He admitted he didn't hit it well enough which is why it stayed lower than he wanted.

Schweini yes, but hard to feel bad for Robben considering his personality.  He refuses to give up a penalty or set piece to anyone else.  His stubbornness got him in trouble this year.  Maybe he learned something... even if it was the hard way.
