Champions League Final - Bayern Munich vs Chelsea FC

Let's get the pre-game thoughts in early.

Bayern is without Alaba, Badstuber, and Gustavo.

Chelsea is without Ivanovic, Terry, Ramires, and Mereiles.

Bayern's backup center backs are injured (Breno and Van Buyten).  There's a chance Van Buyten returns in time, but it's unlikely.  We'll most likely have to play Rafinha at right back, shift Lahm to left back, and play Tymocheck at center back.  Kroos will then drop in to play center mid with Schweini, while Muller takes the attacking mid spot.  Midfield and attack should be good, and defense is OK.  If Van Buyten returns, we'll be in much better shape than Chelsea.

I think we're favorites for this one.  All betting sites have us a favorites as well.  We play in our home stadium and are simply the better team.  We'll outplay Chelsea, no doubt about that, but we have to finish our chances.  I'm also hoping Robben or Ribery don't get injured by late May.

Come on boys!

A side question, should UEFA clear all yellows for the final?  It's a serious debate right now.  I think it's too harsh to suspend players for the final due to yellows.  Yellows should be cleared after the semi final if you ask me.

hmmm im looking through the stats here and i see ivanovic got a yellow in the 2nd leg vs barca, another in the 2nd leg quarterfinal and another in the group stage back in november.

So this means yellows are not cleared after the group stage either i guess. That is shit if that is true.

This is too close to call and anything can happen in a final. But i think bayern will win 1-0

I see you don't know how to spell Tymoschuk either haha
forget Ronaldinho....only one deserves the -inho suffix......Jabarinho!!!!

Yeah, extra rough without clearing cards. You almost have to tactically plan out your yellows so you can miss an irrelevant game.

And yes, I knew I mispelled it lol. Just couldn't bother looking it up. Not an easy one to spell and he's not on the pitch enough to memorize.

Chelsea will win! they showed in Barcelona why we will win!if we continue like this in munich, home advantage will count for little! english league is better than german league!
Cech(the god)
AshleyCole, Cahill, Luiz, Bosingwa
Mikel, Essien
mata, lampsy, kalou
"The drog"
i think it would be better for the quality of the game if all yellow cards were cleared and it would reward those players who worked so hard and put everything on the line
i think the sale of robben was one of the worse decisions but our defence is tough! if we can hold off mr60+goals in one season, we can take robben and ribery
CHELSEA 4ever!
Your over confidence is hilarious for me, i know chelsea have the ability to get this, bayern are not as tough as barca for me

I'll admit it, I was a little too confident initially but it's tough not to be after watching the disgusting play of Chelsea compared to our overall better play vs Madrid.

I'm not the only one who favores Bayern.

The latest betting odds are as follows:

Ladbrokes: Bayern Munich 4/9 – Chelsea 17/10
Paddy Power: Bayern Munich 4/9 – Chelsea 7/4
BET 365: Bayern Munich 4/9 – Chelsea 7/4
Victor Chandler: Bayern Munich 5/12 – Chelsea 7/4
Bet Fred: Bayern Munich 1/2 – Chelsea 13/8
William Hill: Bayern Munich 4/9 – Chelsea 7/4
Stan James: Bayern Munich 4/9 – Chelsea 7/4

Fractional odds
Favoured by bookmakers in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and also common in horse racing, fractional odds quote the net total that will be paid out to the bettor, should he win, relative to his stake. Odds of 4/1 ("four-to-one" or less commonly "four-to-one against") would imply that the bettor stands to make a £400 profit on a £100 stake. If the odds are 1/4 (read "one-to-four", or "four-to-one on"), the bettor will make £25 on a £100 stake. Should he win, the bettor always receives his original stake back, so if the odds are 4/1 you would actually receive a total of £500 in return (£400 plus the original £100). Odds of 1/1 are known as evens or even money. This would result in the bettor making £100 profit, and receiving back £200 in total, should he win.

If you don't mind me asking, since when does Ashley Cole play right back?

If David Luiz is healthy, that's a big boost for you. You have a better fill in at center back than we do so that's a bonus for you.  However, you will struggle big time at right back.  Ribbery will destroy Bosingwa or Fereira.  Also, I don't think you watch Bayern enough but our midfield is miles ahead of yours.  Yours is still quality but you're under-rating our midfield.

I think the game can go either way, but we are favorites.  We should win it unless you guys get lucky by couner attacking.  I can guarantee you we'll have 60/40 posession and probably twice the amount of shots you will.  You'll have to be lucky to win.  It's what Chelsea does though...

Also, I hope you put all your focus on Robbery.  If you do, Kroos/Muller/Schweini will rip your center midfield a new one.  Kroos will split your team with deadly passes at least 2-3 times.  Gomez money!!!

The English league being better has nothing to do with this.  We knocked City out of the group stages, beat Man U two years ago in the CL, and beat everyone in the competition this year.  Chelsea should've been out against Napoli in the first round.  I don't see any other English teams making the knock out round...

I hope Bayern wins this one. I really do. They are 2nd time in a row in the finals, they have beaten a lot of tough rivals trough the competition. I believe they have some luck this year, knowing what happened in Madrid earlier this week.

We didn't make the final last year but yes, we were the year before so 2 out of 3 years in the finals. :great:

As you said, we've had to go through some tough teams - Man City and Napoli in the group stages and then Madrid.  Not easy.

Chelsea just won 6-1... although it was against a slumping QPR side.  Torres with a hatrick... is he back?

They see him scorin!
They hating!

well whatever you think of him, for me it's inspiring that he came back from being the butt of everyone's jokes and the subject of much criticism, to scoring against the best team in the world in Nou Camp, as well as some other cool goals! you will understand what i mean

This match could go either way - what ever prematch statistics tell you, will, in my opinion go out the window on game day - we will just have to wait and see! After Chelsea's recent form and tactical defeat of the european champs, you can't write them off!
should be a nice and interesting final!
may the best team win!!! :celebrate:
