Combo is landed?
« on: Apr 10, 2012, 03:36: PM »
Very random topic here haha!

Sometimes you are doing a combo in a small room with a wall behind you. If during the combo I use my hand to hold on to the wall for balance is the combo landed?

I will use this wFreestyle competition video to give an example. @ 0:12 you can see he holds the wall with his hand:

Lukinhas || wFreestyle Lower 2 - Qualification

I am a big fan of Lukinhas though and I definitely recommend watching the whole video. Crazy nt and style! But if you were a judge in wFreestyle would you take away points for holding the wall for balance? Or you think that he would have landed it even without the wall there?

Recently I held onto a wall while doing a ahtatw combo in my room, but i think i would have landed it better if the wall was not there.

I think this is important to some people because not everyone always has a big open space to practice...............

He definitely would have landed it even without the wall. I think it depends on how much you relied on the wall. Like if you bump in the wall or put your hand up to stop from running into it its no big deal, but if you lose the ball and the ball bounces off the wall but you keep control after I don't believe it is landed. I guess its just different in every situation in my opinion.

I agree, even without the wall, he would land.

Is this some kind of joke? lol

Anyhoe, a better example for discussion would be if he did a combo, but on the last trick the ball went away a bit and bounced off the wall back to him.

To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.

@ Miran: That is the same issue. The same question is if he would land the combo without the wall there. Again it's different in every situation. In that vid I think he would also land it if the wall was not there.
