since most of you who posted here have little knowledge of uppers i'll let everyone in on a secret.

speed > rollers.

It takes MUCH more training to get speed into body tricks then it does to learn rollers. You can do 235 rproll combos literally 3 months after learning rproll. Anyone can do 23409 rproll combos because as soon as you learn one it becomes as easy as juggling. I've never seen bengau do a clean latm, and almost all of turlakovs are mediocre. They're body trick style is too slow.

Luki, Olly, (and even kershe in some aspects) are hands down the greatest. I would love to see bengau or turlakov match their speed on body tricks.

Uppers aren't all about doing rolls, in fact, the hardest part of uppers is developing a clean atm/chestroll style.

(Not hating on bengau or turlakov either, they're still my idols)

Style & flow >>> speed > rollers

Agree with the rest though.  :great:

To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.

I know doing fast/clean/smooth body moves is hard of course, and should be appreciated and regarded. But MOST people do unclean rolls, either they are flying in the air, or they are not even going through the correct path (not using the back of the head part).
Well, rolls are mostly about style and flow I guess, not much about speed. Just saying BOTH styles are equally important, I think most people only use a single direction (except turlakov, bengau and some others), so that's why it may look monotonous, but there can still be a lot of variety in rolls.
Everything in uppers counts as important (except arm rolls and sean roll etc?:021: doesn't feel ok to count them as real uppers but anyways).

don't get me wrong, turlakov and bengau are both really good, but doing 324 rproll in both directions isn't hard, I could literally go 10 minutes doing a roller combo but I struggle to get a solid 25 seconds going as fast as I can.

Unclean rollers can be corrected in literally 5 seconds, just slow down when you're doing a roller and it won't fly off your head.

While both aspects of uppers (rollers/body tricks) are equally important, one is SIGNIFICANTLY harder than they other to develop.

That is why Luki is boss. There are probably 100 people that can do long roller combos, but only 2 people I can think of can get close to matching luki's speed. (kershe and olly)
