It's not the problem of the new phone, it's the iOS 5... Apple is fixing the problem... It seems to check the time zone all the time, which drains the battery, or that's the most common rumor :D

hmmm - i have ipad - haven't upgraded to ios 5 yet - even though there is a jailbreak already 
i wonder if i upgrade, will that affect my battery ? gotta ask my friend who already upgraded

p.s. i wouldn't say new iphone sucks - neither does the 4th one - i think its absolutely brilliant, masterpiece of technology

What I have read there has been people who have gain the extra feature from iOS 5, but some not

I don't have an issue with my iPhone 4 and iOS5, but yes, it's a known issue that Apple admited to.  I'm sure it will be fixed in a couple of weeks.

Yea you belong to other half Do you use your phone absolutely normally, have you jailbraked it, or have much different settings than the "normal"?

Do you really think I would limit myself to free apps when I don't want to pay for air?   So yea I have, I feel bad for people who don't

Yeah, just use it normally.  Did not jailbreak as I don't have a need for all the fancy apps to be honest.  Brightness on average, etc.
