Why JF doesn't compete & WFFC review by Simon Clifford
« on: Oct 10, 2011, 10:52: PM »
From Simon Clifford's FB (he's the creator of Brazilian Soccer Schools, JF is one of his "products"):
Quote
After looking at the recent event in Kuala Lumpur I have done some research.

I have had a look at and saved the linkedin profile of Dan Wood President of the Freestyle Football Federation, but also Managing Director of Streets United.

When Freestyle has again a transparent and ethical World Championships I am certain that the world's top talent would have an interest. Those in their prime rather than old men or young lads as we have seen of late.

John Farnworth has two problems, firstly he needs someone to actually compete against. Secondly, there is no event that is worth entering and has not been for quite some time.

He is a modest young man, but I will say that in terms of consistency and variation that he is on a different page to any other freestyler practicing the art of football freestyle globally right now.

there seems to be no point at all for anyone with ambition entering the meaningless and shallow playing field of a competition with a 'President' who also runs an agency with his own 'talent' on the books.

Until Football Freestyle has transparency and correct governance it will not progress as an art form or sport, it will never become mainstream this way.

When John won his world title the playing field was level. Today too many 'managers' and 'agencies' stand to ruin something that they had no part in creating nor deserve or merit any part in.

If this is the winning performance in a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur then it is a very poor reflection on the citing of this event as a 'world championship' or 'official'.

Dan Wood should and must resign from his management company and his stable of freestylers or stop the charade of the Football Freestyle Federation (F3) and it's 'World Championship' that he has created and presides over.

Football Freestyle matters to me, it's a part of my own work and history that I care deeply about.

I have had a hand in helping it along since first exposing the art form to a global mainstream audience twelve years ago.

If you allow those chasing financial gain to have opportunity then you verge on Football Freestyle potentially going backwards before it ever had the rightful and deserved opportunity to take a great leap forward

It's impossible to just write something short on such a subject. Good post, too bad Simon doesn't want to answer mine.

i think eventually jf has to compete and will compite to regein his so call best freestyler in the world.
the level that is shown now a days is clearly beyond jf´s joust by seen that jk was eliminated in the first raund shows that jf doesnt stand a chance.

I've just gone through all of it.. and I have to say that I have absolutely no respect for this guy. I feel offended in some way, also angry about everything he says. He claims to know everything about freestyle yet he proves to know absolutely nothing by saying that nobody "can handle" JF, he doesn't know who Mac is and what he has done for the growth of freestyle, and he claims to be better as a freestyle judge than Mac, have more knowledge about freestyle than him, etc.

This really pisses me off.
