Videos Are stupid measure for level... Iv seen that many times in competitons... Not possible to compare it..

so if a guy does fuckin amazing videos, but is not able to compete at any competitions should we all just ignore his skills and say; you havent compete so you cant be in WFFC...... thats not fair at all i would say, also competitions can be very unfair aswell.... weve seen that.

yes... if he is not able to compete at anything its not important for him... the plan is to make local competitions everywhere so that distanse is no escuse :)   LP videos could be okay for showing skills...

Format of this competition is made similar to Formula One. The same players are playing whole league, are given points for every single competition and at the end of this last 8 are gonna be replaced by another one. Changing players every round will kill the TOUR/LEAGUE system. Me personaly thought the same like you that every round there will be 8 replacements but then I was explained and in spite is could sound unfaire to others it makes sense.
Plus we are considering point system for every single competition which is gonna happen like Prague, RBSS etc to get everyone successful closer to Tour (in case they are let by their parents unlike Skora´s parents)
Here are some words from headquarters:

- Before the tour starts next year - there are no big events that effectively would 'qualify' people to enter. So if no-one has any problems with how good the standard of the top 16 are this year, then it's only fair that they get to experience the whole tour concept first
- 1 year flies by! and for anyone thinking it's closing the door on them - then this is a very short term focus on just themselves. We have to think about the development of the sport as a whole here and the 16 we have selected are perfect ambassadors for that
- To relegate people after each event wouldn't make any sense - no consistency and then the sponsors / TV won't understand and therefore won't support
- On the issue of travel to events to get points etc... if we put everything 'on a plate'for people then there would be no challenge and also it shows a very poor awareness for self responsibility. If you personally know that by traveling to an event in Poland, not only will it be fun, but you will get points you need to push into the top 16 and then benefit from TV coverage, sponsorship etc, then you will find a way to get there...
- This is the first year - we will be learning as we go and all points people make are very welcome and will help make the model right.

So all points are welcome.

Very good post and I agree with a lot of things, but if this is the case, the current 16 should've been more carefully selected, because:
1.) It was obvious that some aren't on the required level to compete at that level
2.) Some didn't even fulfill the "results in the past 3 years" criteria

So that means, you'll have guys who are not on the required level competing for another year...

Also, I'd advise 2 more judges being added, those which focus more on the technical performance. ;)

I don't think anyone makes videos to show what they are 100% consistent at lol.
I'm pretty sure the point of a video is to show your hardest shit and what you've accomplished.
For me it shows your real level, because you are going as hard as you can.

I think people confuse freestyle with showmanship, freestyle is going as hard as you can. A live performance is to entertain a group of people who don't know shit about fs. Don't confuse them.

As for competitions go, some get nervous in front of people, does that mean we should disregard his eatw combos he showed in his last video?

What does it matter how good you are on video if you can't show even 30% of that when it matters?

The only thing a video you described can show is how good are you potentially, so to speak. The stuff you pull off when it actually matters is your "real" level, not the stuff you get on your cam after 50 attempts.

The entire tour is going to be boring for anyone that actually follows freestyle other than those actually on the tour. The same 16 the entire time is going to insure that the same battles will happen too. Also, we can't have a new world champion every couple months. That's just silly. There could be 8 new world champions when this is done?

I think it should be organized with regional qualifiers: North America, South America, Europe(maybe split into 2 or 3 regions for that large of population), Asia(same as Europe), Africa, and Australia and surrounding countries. This would make it more of a world championship. They could still market this well in my opinion, but that would be the only fair way to realistically pick a top 16. The current competitions means paying for travel or just out of luck.

It was my understanding that top 8 stayed bottom 8 were swapped. Therefore the real world champion was the one who had the highest average ranking over all the different locations.

yeh its not gonna be a world champion at every event. this was a test run in KL

its gonna be a league and like TF said, after all 10 events or whatever, whoever is number 1 in the ranking will be world champ

therefore, 1 world champion per year

In every country there will be different sponsors. In Kuala Lumpur we were invited by the ministry of youth and sports.

If you look closer to top 16 guys they are pocked from different parts of the world like South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. There was considered their reputation for past 3 years so I am pretty sure those are reasonable ambassadors to represent the scene on Tour.
There is gonna be only one World Champion after whole Tour with the most points and this competition will be called World Champ for sure since Prague is gonna be European Champ Open. So we have sorted out number of those champs for next years.
There are different sponsors in every city. As Daniel said we had Malaysian ministry this time + Double Tree hotel gave us some free rooms, TM company and many more local or international sponsors like One Football World and local TV. So everything was perfectly arranged thanx to local team which made wonderful job.

Well if kuala lumpur was only a test run, you should be able to improve some things for example weak freestylers. it is obvious that there are some freestylers who can easily be replaced by 10 times better ones so why dont you do that if this was just a test?
