Fabregas to Barcelona

Cesc deal expected 'soon'

Barcelona's Victor Valdes has revealed that talks are 'very advanced' for Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and that the signing will be announced in hours.

Quote
Valdes thinks it will not be long before Fabregas is back at the Nou Camp.

"I think we have good news,'' he told a news conference. ''Talks are very advanced. I cannot imagine Barca next season without Cesc. It is close. In a few hours they will announce his signing.''

To confirm that a deal may be done before the weekend, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique tweeted: ''Today is gonna be a great day!!'' adding: "We now have him here".

Club captain Carles Puyol also wrote: "Welcome home!!! Happy to have you here @cesc4official"

 :undecided:

I sure hope Barcelona spends at least 40 million pounds, otherwise this is a real rip-off.  If Aguero goes for 40, Sanchez rumoured for 35, and shitty Jordan Henderson for 20, then Fabs real value is more like 50 million.  Let's see if Arsenal gets ripped off again.

How do you think Fab fits in at Barca?  I'm thinking he's a rotation player for 2 years.  When Xavi leaves, he'll take over.  Also, if you've been watching Barca during pre-season, you'll know that Thiago is a hell of a player.  He's someone that could easily start right now and have Pedro's type of impact.  Getting Fab is just surplus to requirements.

I believe cesc will start ahead of pedro. Iniesta will play on the wing. If that happens it will be unfair to pedro though because he has been awesome. Thiago will have to wait his turn no matter how great he is now. He has to accept he is playing for a golden generation barca team.

Also, i believe xavi has way more than 2 years left in him. Maybe 4 or 5 more :017:

Have you ever seen football business fair? It's tough competition, not la la land where everybody gets to play.

The deal is worth €29m (£25.5m), to be paid by Barcelona in two instalments, plus €5m (£4.4m) in bonuses dependent on the club's success and another €5m to be paid by Fábregas to Arsenal, €1m for each year of his new contract. Fábregas, who was presented to fans at Camp Nou, will wear the No4 shirt.

 :043:

They'll get 30-35 million max with all the clauses!  What a rip off!  Player had 4 years left on his contract and is world-class.  Not to mention, he's goin to a top team who should have money.

They paid around 60 million for Ibra if you take into account the Eto'o trade. :embarrassed:

Arsenal... FAIL... again!

I am trying to remember how many big clubs sell their captains in their prime .

He's already kissing the badge! :embarrassed:

I don't think there has ever been a team so dominant in club football... NEVER!

The gap between Barca and the next best team is insane.  This should never be the case, but it is with Barca.
