What Issy said was a bit aggressive and he got a bit defensive, weird. What Edward was saying though was quite true, he was a little ignorant saying that everything has been done before though, freestyle has come on 100 times more than street football has in recent years.

Most of what they said stands and is true. It's the same thing as when people compare football players like Ronaldinho or C.Ronaldo to freestylers, so don't get your panties in a bunch ladies. ;)

To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.

hehehe. i understand why he is pissed about it... imagen everyone asking all the time "can you do this around the world?"

same as we are anoyed by getting compaired with football players..

But the funny fact is that we have a differnt sport... they just play football on the street ;) its not that differnt from futsal..
and im pretty sure some of the S3 memebers are closer to their skills when it comes to pannas, then they are close to our tricks..

anyway... freestyle will kick ass in the future so i dont really get anyoied by anyone talking down on our sport... Its just the beginning :)

At the very beginning everything was mixed, guys like nelson de kok, touzani, ratinho... used to play both street soccer and freestyle.

I hate those dutch guys because due to their arrogance, they killed the evolution of street soccer and his evolution on the same level than freestyle. Why? Because they didn't want to make videos, they were always saying things like " we are the best from far, you can't imagine what we can do. We are hidding, we do not want people to mimic our tricks" and so on.

So what happened? In the same time in years around 2004 and 2005, others guys came with airmoves an nt like Palle, Skora and Fx. They were not from the street soccer culture. They DID make videos to prove their skills, and many tried to mimic them immediately. There was an enthusiasm with freestyle and progressively, street soccer was vanishing. I remember when I began freestyling in 2007, many street soccer, ground or pannas videos were posted on this forum. Look at what we got today... the same again and again boring lowers from Russia. I'm happy we still got guys like Kamalio, Yamato, Yosshi or Michryc... to bring cool stuff to freestyle !

So now, Van gils and Issy are wayyy behind freestylers, they are jealous, so they don't want to be compared to them... but they shlou know they are the only responsible for that...

Who's he talking about, which freestyler said they were a street baller?
Even though I agree, it really sounds like he looks down on us and that's one of his major issues with freestyle.
And what's this entertainer bullshit? Street ballers entertain the crowd just like freestyle, they just attract a different crowd. They play on the streets for fun, we play in our yards, garages etc. Freestyle is obviously better for entertaining but that doesn't mean street football isn't a form of entertainment as well.

debatable
It was my opinion..
But since you want to debate. Which do you think would be more entertaining to watch for the average person?
I'd say freestyle because even if you don't know anything about freestyle you can still enjoy watching it. It can be performed anywhere with little space. You don't need a cage or a secondary person which makes it more flexible too(therefore more people can be entertained by it since it can be done anywhere).
Weak argument but I think it's pretty obvious that the majority of the average person would definitely choose to watch freestyle over street football.

I was really introduced to freestyle through street football. I had seen freestyle and thought it was impressive, but i was never convinced to try it out myself primarily because my ball touch was horrible and I could only juggle to 5.
Then at a street soccer tournament I met Toft and Brizze -- and they were at the tournament to perform with panna matches on the side. I got my ass kicked and I was amazed by the tricks they pulled of in the ring. It blew me away. I went straight home and watched all their "FC Panna" videos and wanted to be able to do it myself. As i practiced street soccer i started to try and juggle a little bit and was slowly introduced to freestyle too. But it never caught me the same way as street soccer. --- thats why im saying it is debatable because i have a different experience. But i know that the majority of this forum will disagree with me, i'm just stating that it is a very debatable subject.

Nevertheless i love both sports and as posted earlier i think this video is totally disrespectful and i don't like it.
Keep it Street..

I'm moving this to Freestyle Chat.

I think the guy is just being honest and telling it how it is.  It seems most of their frustrations came from some ignorant comments on Youtube... they probably just got tired of it all.

Just how 95% of freestylers hate football, they hate how freestylers are individualistic and not about any aspect of football.
